Gas tax ballot petition

Post by Mike Simanyi »

I almost put this in the Off Topic forum, but we all use fuel for our sport so...

There is an effort being made to petition for a ballot initiative in the elections later this year. The gist of it is to repeal the newly enacted gas tax increase, as well as the car registration increase.

If you would like those taxes / fees to remain in place, please just go about your day. If you would like to have the opportunity to vote to repeal them, please follow the link below, print out the document, sign it (up to two people can sign, if it's the same as it was earlier) and mail it back to the organizers.

This signature does not repeal the tax. It only provides voters the opportunity to vote on that later in the year.

Here's the link for anyone who would like that opportunity: http://act.reformcalifornia.org/petitio ... cartax.org

I've heard from a few sources the average family of 4 in the state is estimated to spend an additional $700+ per year due to these newly enacted taxes. So yes... it's a material affect.
