Does anyone know of a local vendor (where local=within ~60 miles of El Toro) that will shave brand new, unused tires?
I'm thinking about some experiments...

Thanks Jon. I wouldn't have guessed someone was available so close.
They're probably throwing distance from Max's house...
(And thanks for the laugh Rick.)

You supply tires, car, and cul-de-sac, and I’ll do the donuts.

This is inevitably where the "street tires are cheap" road leads ;) ;) ;)
In all seriousness, I found when road racing in CMC, if you really wanted to win a race, show up with 3 or 4/32's and there was a big difference in grip, feedback from the tires, and transition stability.

ps -- Rick, that photo is awesome!

What is the advantage of tire shaving? I think it is dangerous to use tires like that..
