FSAE West Volunteers Needed!

Post by Christine Grice »

We are only Two weeks away from FSAE West! :gpower:

If you have already volunteered, Great! A lot of you have gotten emails confirming you assignments and your all important T-Shirt size. If you have not recieved one of these emails please contact John Stewart at stewartjohnm at netscape.net or me, Christine Berry at racechicksolo2 at gmail.com

I have created a google document of the work assignments. If you see any problems or curiosities, please let me know (racechicksolo2 at gmail.com)
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key= ... 2Z-GVrQ3cQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

For those of you who are undecided or are simply looking for something neat to do on June 28, please see the Intro to FSAE thread to find out what this event is all about. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=100" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We are in need of more workers on Saturday June 28 for the Endurance event.

When you volunteer you will recieve free lunch, a free T-Shirt, and a Free practice later in the year (probably the one in September but that is not for certain yet)

I don't want to hear any more whining about not being able to get into practices. Not only will this one be free for you but you will be guaranteed
an entry spot. You only have to work one day (not both) to qualify for the free practice, although there will be a lot of us there both days.

These college teams spend all year preparing for this competition, please come out and support them! :thumbup:

Yes! Please, more people volunteer for this event! It is a great event for all those hardworking college students. They literally put their blood in the cars they design and build!

Also it a great experience for you guys to see these cars. They get better and better each year (not that much better than my 2003 and 2004 FSAE car ;) )

I'm volunteering through my company and SAE. Hope to see you guys out there.

I know I already told Gayle this, I'm planning on being there on the 28th. But if I get a paying job, I'll have to bail. What can I say.

I would not mind volunteering but, like Tom, I cannot guarantee that I will be in the city that weekend.

Messages sent to Tom and Reijo.

We still need more volunteers!

This is not just a regular old autocross, these are one of a kind cars built by students. This is an example of how many different ways there are to approach the same set of rules. Tube frame chassis, carbon monocoques, one cylinder motors, 4 cylinder motorcycle motors...

Lots of positives there - also good to pay back to the club and support some future autocrossers and racers.

Sent you an email, Christine.

Actually, I think our car was MUCH better than yours! :D

I'll be volunteering through work. Even though the students might not show it (because they're way too focused on the car they've spent a whole year building), everyone really appreciates all the volunteers.

We still need volunteers for Saturday, June 28th!

If you have already volunteered you should be able to find your name on this list:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key= ... 2Z-GVrQ3cQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you cannot find your name, please email me! I hae been organizing the workers for the autocross and endurance events so the list looks a little different than a week ago.

Don't forget if you volunteer you get free continental breakfast, free lunch, a free T-shirt, and a FREE Practice later in the year!!!!!

I need a couple of helpers on Friday after the autocross to stick around and help set up the endurance course. The more people we have the faster it should go.

If you are working the autocross event and can stick around for a little while to help please email me!

Thank you!

Christine,

The autocross course will be almost identical to the endurance course with a few minor changes. The changover on Friday evening should go fairly quickly.

Craig Angel offered to help me set up the autocross starting Thursday at noon. I could use one or two more people if anyone is available.

Thanks,

John

I might be able to do Thu. to help set up, but I can't do Fri. or Sat. Would I get credit for working and get a free practice?

I think we would need an official ruling from someone like Renee before we can promise that, but if John needs the help its worth asking :)

I only recall Western Washington. My coworker was a member of the team.
