Picture at around 12 something ... in addition to the flood, what do we do about all the mud and debris that will be left behind as in some of the pictures below?

I was there from about 8:15 to 10:00 updating the software in the computers. It rained pretty constantly and there were several very very heavy showers. Even after the rain stopped and it was clearing, the flow of water down the ditch on the west side into the lake was very heavy. I'm sure it will continue for some time.

The current plan for tomorrow (Sunday) is to get out there early and asses the lake. Re-make the course if the lake isn't too big. Cancel if the lake takes up too much of the lot to have a decent course. It just depends on the amount of rain Fontana gets overnight.

As early as a decision is made we'll get it posted here.

As long a no one takes a lap, no.
What about a lap in a boat -- would that count? :gpower:

I don't know if you need to go to all that trouble. Just look at it and make a call. Besides the water's probably pretty cold.

It is draining okay now - at 3pm it was down lower than what we experienced in December. The forecast is for less than .25" of rain before morning. The course may be shorter than our typical 60-70 seconds, but there is no compelling reason to cancel at this time.

When I was there @1:30, the shore line had already recessed about 80 feet. That would have been in a 3 hour time span. I was told the infield and drag strip that also drains into that lot had pretty much drained down. I suspect that by morning we'll have enough room to have an event. But as Eric said, we'll have to make the assessment in the morning. A heavy rain tonight could torpedo those plans. If the call is to cancel, we'll get the word out ASAP. As of now, plan on coming.

From the pictures it looks like the water leaves behind quite a mess. What is the lot going to look like if it does drain?

A explanation of where we stand should go up in its on thread not the discussion for today's practice.

If you're running in the morning you're on the way before you can read the notice in the morning. And with the SuperBowl anybody not running for serious points is probably trying to run in the morning. Leaves attendance quite in doubt.

Our plans are to run Juniors at the beginning of the afternoon since they ran first in Jan. I couldn't get an answer on that earlier, so Stacey made the decision. Blame her.... If you dare, she's sick and going through hell on multiple fronts so I don't dare even go near the sleeping bears cave.

Even if the water is down, what about all the dirt/debris? Should we all bring brooms?

That's what I love about So. Cal., there's practically no sign that it flooded yesterday. I saw people with their convertible top down today
