Great Video Bryan ... I think that's an excellent video angle. I'm surprised no one is using the helmet side mount like Bullet Cam offers?

Bryan Heitkotter wrote:What a great place to autocross! Nice surface, great, big courses (even if they did favor the rotary powerband ;)), good weather, and good company. Well done.

By the way, who was announcing the 3rd heat? I didn't recognize the voice, but then again that's not one of my strong points.
I think it went:
1st group, me
2nd group, Joan Lynch
3rd group, Curt Luther
4th group, Tom Berry
5th group, Jason Isley

Here are the fastest runs for our car this weekend

Bryan's is not on the helmet. We have done a helmet mounted video many times, on a kart it can make a lot of sense. But it normally is not a good idea. Look again at Bryan's video and watch how much the helmet is moving relative to the car. Good video requires the camera to be moving with the car (same frequency). A good driver will also turn their head and look at the next corner... even if the car is moving straight forward. On playback, that just looks bad.

The one thing though is can teach you how much your head moves.

BTW, what joker switch my prius speedometer to Km per hour? I was driving home on Sand Canyon and Alton 'freeways' thinking my speed perspective was messed up from being at El Toro all weekend since '55' felt like I was crawling. Turns out I was rolling at about 35mph in a 55/50 zone.

I didn't say that Bryan was using a helmet mount. I guess it just shows that I don't move my head enough, because when I tried the helmet mount ... my "frequency" was in sync with the car, ie. not right or good ... taught me a lesson ... and might help other newbs or otherwise slow drivers.

Short (battery died) helmet clip ... camera level got bumped:

I'm not positive, but that may have been our own Reverend Curtis Luther.

Thanks. I'm using the old CruiseCam headrest mount with an 0.5x wide angle lens on my old school brick camcorder. One of these days I'll find a better place to store my Koni adjusters while I'm running. All those light clunks you hear are from them flying around in the glovebox. :)

Yeah, it was me. I hope I got your name close to right. I always have trouble with "Bryan"...

...and thanks for winning and making me look like a genius for picking you. Usually I do that and it jinxes them :)
