PSCC Championship Photos and Videos
A few little errors on my fast run probably cost me the win over Ken. He doesn't make errors as he is barely human. I thought Theo did a fabulous job with the courses - I had a great time all weekend.

Re: PSCC Championship Photos and Videos
Got caught off guard coming out of the Wallums on my first lap. Spin seems benign but I actually hit my helmet very hard against I guess the door frame. I thought I had possible gone off course and hit something?! Went into the previous corner too hot and almost lost it. Got to check brakes ... they didn't feel great:

Re: PSCC Championship Photos and Videos
ALL Clips from Sunday have been uploaded, although it seems a few might be missing. Double Checking
If anyone figures out a better link, let us know. As the account holder I get different looks and pages.
Since I can't charge like I do when I sell prints or files, if you gain some practical use from these and the many upcoming slow motion videos, please consider making a PayPal donation to makofoto at earthlink dot net
I'm resisting Blip.TV's suggestion that I turn on Advertising to your benefit.
Saturday's file's links will be posted under the PSCC Practice thread. We got EVERYONE on Saturday. On Sunday we only got Run Group 1, one run each from Run Groups 2 and 3. A very few grabs of the F Jr's and Group 5.
I'm not going through all of the files to check for problems ... so there could be false camera starts, out-of-focus shots, etc. mixed in among the OK shots.

Re: PSCC Championship Photos and Videos
Here are a couple from practice, and my first run on Sunday.
In-car perspective, camera on engine lid. Some really talkative guy with a strange orange helmet jumped in at the last minute.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBYRCdyoHOk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
QV driving, camera on side glass. My last words to QV: "Drive it as hard as you want, but try not to hit any cones." D-oh!! Don't worry, QV, the scuffs came right off without any problems. Nice save at 0:58!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQyvpWnENp0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Sunday's first run, 67.something. I'm loving the ChaseCam mount...it's pretty versatile, and I used a smaller mount cross-braced with a section of c-f golf shaft to get the camera really stable, despite being away from the body quite a bit. A good run, but I totally parked it exiting the left-hander before the first slalom. What's crazy is seeing the door panel gap widen and narrow from the cornering loads...I knew some chassis flex was happening, but this is more than I thought!

Nice run! And cheer up, Max...you're mere fractions of a second away from being barely human yourself!Max Hayter wrote:A few little errors on my fast run probably cost me the win over Ken. Tighter is better ... in movie making they always say to go tighter (closer) to make it better:

Another 50 uploading, and another 50, and now another 50 ... uploading seems to be going much smoother this time ... already uploaded something like 4 gigs from the weekend ... but Will K and I will be trying a new system this evening that allows us to upload everything directly to the CSCC's vast storage space ... with Thumbnails.

Re: PSCC Championship Photos and Videos
We were using Pete's Casio EX-F1 hybrid digital camera with a 2X telephoto extender, which gives us something like a 860 mm lens ... which on a hot day piles up a lots of heat distortion. The camera will shoot up to 1,200 frames per second ... but the faster you roll the smaller the file sizes, ie. less resolution. It's all about processing power.
What makes this camera great is that in one setting one can shoot at 30 frames per second and then with a tiny twist of the lens barrel you go to 300 fps, with the exposure perfectly compensated for. One issue with the camera is that there is no Auto Focus or Zooming while shooting video. As you can see with Saturday's footage, focus was a bit of a hit and miss situation when trying to use Auto Focus to set focus before rolling. On Sunday I just set the focus manually to almost infinity and that worked best.
This camera has been out for a number of years. They've come out with cheaper versions but nothing better.
http://exilim.casio.com/products_exf1.shtml It will also shoot up to 60 Stills Per Second, as opposed to 60 video frames per second. One can drop those 60 stills per second into a video program to get high resolution semi slow motion, but you would have huge files to deal with.

Re: PSCC Championship Photos and Videos
ALL Clips from Sunday have been uploaded The missing 50 clips from mid way through the first run group have been added.
If anyone figures out a better link, let us know. As the account holder I get different looks and pages.
Since I can't charge like I do when I sell prints or files, if you gain some practical use from these slow motion videos (set-up help, facebook bragging), please consider making a PayPal donation to makofoto at earthlink dot net
I'm resisting Blip.TV's suggestion that I turn on income producing Advertising for your benefit. (An AD before each clip!)
Note ... lots of resolution robbing heat waves as the day warms up.

Re: PSCC Championship Photos and Videos
Btw, you guys know when you name things PSCC Championship it'll make it real hard to search for in 2 years when you want to find a pic or video from a certain event. Just sayin, i'm tired of renaming everyone's threads to fix this.
