Arthur ... I'm checking to see if Karen has that Gate/Waiver How-To online. Their IS a copy in the Gate Box.
The Gate Steward needs to line up the folks that will be taking care of Gate in the morning and at lunch, when regular workers aren't available.
The Gate Steward needs to make sure someone is there early ... typically 6:30 ... and that person needs to know where the Gate Box is and how to get into the locked motor home. Even at 6:30 a few folks will already have arrived. One needs to make sure that those folks that slipped in early sign-in and get their wrist bands.
Typically the Gate Steward also helps man the gate for one session each day. Typically two to three gate workers on Sat morning, three to four on Sunday ... usually working 1.5 hours with half hour off-sets.
The Gate Steward needs to make sure both Waiver Forms are correctly filled out, by his helpers and workers ... and fill in the event/date/place info on each page if the workers didn't do it, and Sign the waivers. I believe one copy goes to Gale/motorhome and one copy of the Speedway waiver goes to the guard house at the end of the event. The Speedway typically provides their own semi filled out waivers ... or at least the top one will be filled out like they want it filled out.
The Gate Stewards needs to make sure that the gate workers know how to correctly fill out the Minor waivers ... the new ones that need to be filled out front and back.
One question is ... when do we STOP manning the gate. Is it OK to leave the gate unmanned after the last run group

I have been told that as soon as the last car has run, gate is done. One question is ... when do we STOP manning the gate. Is it OK to leave the gate unmanned after the last run group

For some reason I thought at El Toro we needed to man it longer ... but we were inconsistent in following that.

Re: Chiefs needed NOW for the 15th/16th
Folks, it is getting desperate...We can't have an event without a Safety Steward.
Please volunteer if you are licensed. I've done my share plenty over the past few years, I don't want to become the default.
