Great to see Jonathan back, and seemingly not having lost any of his speed!
Also big congrats to Hi for his first win! Beating Lisa is no small feat!

Congrats to Kurt Rahn for his first class win as well. He made his first instructor proud.

Thanks, Leonard! Bet you wish you'd left a few of your tricks out of the lessons, huh? ;)Leonard Cachola wrote:Congrats to Kurt Rahn for his first class win as well. He made his first instructor proud.
Originally, I thought the course would be good for speed-maintenance cars, but after driving it, power provided a definite advantage. I was on the limiter a whole lot, and it was all in places where it would be unwise to shift into third.

I believe that's Hi's second, actually, but sometimes that one is even harder to get. Great job, Hi. And awesome drive, Kurt. I'm sorry I didn't get to congratulate you in person.Mako to wrote:Great to see Jonathan back, and seemingly not having lost any of his speed!

Two videos in one!
Roof mount was my best run, 70.655. Driver's-side mount was slower, but an interesting angle nonetheless.

Re: The Official No$ Champ Photo/Video Thread
ok, sorry it took a while to get these up. I had a slew of problems with the computer that I had to deal with after the race day, on top of my lightroom catalog going poof after I had finished 95% of the sorting.
I tried to sort them more meaningfully this time, but they're going to suck for load time, since they're disproportionate based upon light, position, my hunger, boots discomfort, Cable arrival, etc, etc..
group 1 = 819 photos, definitely the most of the day.. lighting was most forgiving
group 2 = 467 photos
group 3 = 180 photos, sorry, i bailed out early because I was hungry, thirsty, and kinda needed to pee..
group 4 = 440 photos, was only there for a part of the session, before Christine pointed out how sunburnt my shoulders were
group 5+ = err, sorry. the light sucked, I was sun burnt, and, well, i'm really not getting paid to do this..
I had more photos flagged that I wanted to process, but the catalog catastrophe kinda nuked that.. so, here's a few misc pics:
sexy car
more sexy.. i'm partial to yellow..
Theo looks like he's looking up at a plane or something while driving..
Bev, Toby.. Elite Tint is too effective, I can barely see you in the car..
Marshall, apparently loose and on the edge of out of control is not always fast.. }:)
this was just an exciting car to watch.. easier to track then KJ's thing, by a lot.
I think this car was aiming for cones on a few runs..
CABLE!
the kids are so much fun to watch

Wow ... wish you hadn't waited for me to "retire" before shooting us, ie. never got ME!
Re: The Official No$ Champ Photo/Video Thread
Great stuff, Jeff! Those slow-shutter pan blurs really give the feeling of speed!
Sorry about the sunburn...I'll send you a check for some photos and a tube of SPF60.

The Z really appreciated this course, and I was able to explore some limits that have not been accessible on recent courses. It helped to boost confidence in the weighty beast on street tires. And, there were good visual cues, which I depend on more and more these days as opposed to memory. Good stuff, thanks Mark!

Great pics Jeff, thanks!
I now know how much work it is to take great pics. Two cameras strapped to your body, grab shoot drop, rotate grab shoot ... and that's just one car within seconds.

Good job, Leonard, and congrats for 2nd place! How do you get speed, acceleration and a coarse map overlaid on top of your video? I need to catch up with this technologyLeonard Cachola wrote:Here are my first (74.xxx) and fourth (72.6xx) runs in SK2:

Thanks! Nice job with the baby Bimmer — get some tires on that thing and you could be winning our class or at least giving Stuart a run for his money!Mihail Milkov wrote: Good job, Leonard, and congrats for 2nd place! The speed/acceleration/course map were captured with a MaxQData GPS and it was overlaid on the video file using RaceRender when I got home. Much easier and quicker than the old way I was doing it. Files take forever to upload to youtube, though, because I've got a slow connection.
