I've suggested this several times to the leader.
At the SFR Div, their local FSAE accepted donations to the program and in turn worked course. They made very well Sat and came back Sunday(both days in the rain). They also gave t-shirts for a donation of ~20 or more.

Also, don't count on the specific work time schedule to work out with only three groups. You need at least four groups for that to really be effective.
Your proposed version creates the opposite problem - people working right after running. Now the next group will be waiting til the last person just finished running and reporting to work before beginning.

Either way can work; there's no guaranteed advantage with either arrangement.

The times are listed there for reference - whether we run ahead, on, or behind schedule, some times listed give you a general idea. Everyone will get their allotted runs.
The "opposite" is not a problem. It's only less efficient if people to choose to be inconsiderate and simply wait till the last run is done AND THEN go sign in for work.

A majority of people will be running as singles. They should go park their vehicle and go report for work. That doesn't mean go work right then. It just means go sign in, get your work assignment, and wait by motorhome for the last run to be done. That way those people are ready to go fill their work spot.

Also all cars should already be in grid as that group was not doing anything prior. Might even be a good idea to have a pre-grid area just for people to hang out till they can move into grid.

This method is far superior because of these reasons. The next run group SHOULD be ready-to-go. A majority of workers SHOULD be ready-to-go.

That reference has so many prerequisites with only 3 run groups that it makes it meaningless. With 4 run groups it works great. With 3 it can not in any way unless it's pure coincidence.
