Well, it just worked out that way. There are only so many dates available for the events, and logistically, it was this weekend, or just not.

Maybe national office doesn't want SD event to be a success...
I pity the kids who have to hang around the parking lot the whole weekend...
Also the Dads & Moms who can't play because it is Easter...
It is like an event held on Christmas day!!
I wonder how many of those who join the major solo events are families? Maybe families in autocross are a dying breed...
Wonder how many Dads will show up or be allowed to do this event?
The guys who scheduled this must not believe in ....
Times are changing :!:

+1. I can't do it; not even going to ask. And I think even if I had the gall to ask my family to attend, I'd boycott it in the hopes that this event is such an abject failure that they'll never plan a national event on Easter again. Like Ira said, if you have any Christian in you at all (or have kids) Easter and XMas are the Big Two. Not to be messed with. I don't care what dates are available or not.

Really? Easter? A big deal? huh. I guess if they can have football games on Christmas, we can race on Easter. Midnight mass on Saturday maybe?

If the overarching goal is to draw new people into this sport and present ourselves as family friendly, we just failed.

BTW, if I'm getting paid $$$ to play a game and it's my job, then hell yes I'll show up. If I'm paying to do something I love to do, and volunteering my time, and get sh#$ on by having to sacrifice a family holiday, sorry.

Fred, I'm not Catholic, so I don't do mass, midnight or otherwise. Mark, You aren't Christian, and I know you don't have kids, but lots of other people have kids and Easter is a big deal, whether you're Christian or not.

Tough one for me. Will be doing midnight mass on Saturday. Quite unfortunate and the SCCA left us no choice. On the other hand, for those who are attending you won't be disappointed in the course and there will be no delays for course breakup :P . For those who don't know and are planning on getting tires before hand, Qualcomm needs brand new full tread tires. DO NOT SHAVE! - that is all ;)

Same here. There are about three days out of the year where this applies to me as well... unfortunately for SCCA, Easter is one of those three.

Easter is a bit unfortunate and before this thread gets too ugly :( may I suggest that people let the SCCA know their feelings (either way) so in the future the SCCA knows exactly where people stand on the issue.

Attention STR drivers: There will be Easter eggs hidden under some of the cones on course. Best to knock over as many as possible looking for them (on all runs). Whoever finds the gold one gets a special prize. :D

Not that it matters for me this year (unless the easter egg thing works), but have any of you been able to sign up for contingency?
