Ladies School

Post by KJ Christopher »

I know the exact date hasn't been worked out, but would it be possible to put something up on the main page about the ladies school? Maybe not in the calendar, but on the home page under news and announcements? There were several new people at the past event and I overheard the school mentioned. But if anybody goes to the site there doesn't appear to be any info (purpose, format, etc.).

Yes that is a good idea. I spoke to someone who was very interested in having his girlfriend attend.

Here's a link to a previous one http://www.solo2.com/EventPage.asp?eid= ... A7FD9EFD8} I imagine this year the info will be the same, just need the date settled. Edit: Don't know why the url thing isn't working, but just go the the results page and look at the event flyers from '06 and '07
Since the configuration of the entire Thanksgiving weekend will not be set until the meeting on 24th, don't know that we can say much more. The two clubs that have taken surveys in their forums seem to be in favor of either practice/school/Championship or school/practice/Championship.

Something like:

We intend to host another ladies school around Thanksgiving weekend. Stay tuned for the exact date. As in the past, all instructors are female, most with National Championship experience. This event is specifically geared toward getting new ladies into the sport. A low pressure, relaxed environment. Any men accompanying their lady will be expected to work the event and be prohibited from "helping" beyond being a pit boy.

posted in the announcements section.

this is a reply from my post in the ladies @ willow thread:::

Jen-

The Autocross Ladies School is Saturday Nov. 29th at Auto Club Speedway

There will be a practice open to all on Friday and a normal Championship on Sunday.

Little too soon for flyers, but spread the word on the ladies school that date was set this past Wednesday at the committee meeting.

More accurate language about the Fri. Practice should include the word "Limited", "open to all" sounds like we have 100+ spots, we actually are limited to about 80, w/ the hosting club getting first dibs. :)
Watch for the flyer update on when to sign up for the Fri., 11-28, practice.

Hello!
I brought my fiancee to the ladies school last year and she really enjoyed it. We are thinking of attending again. Also, she has a friend that is interested.
I understand the event is Sat Nov 29. Is there a phone contact for this, that I can pass onto the friend?

Renee Angel is the Event Chair. Don't know if she wants her number published or not, but you can certainly email or IM her.
