Congrats to you too Mihai 6th is a solid finish for sure. I saw you had second fastest time in class on Wed.

I see that STS results say "Under Protest", haven't heard what's going on there.

andy hollis just handed his STS and Honda trophies for the Pro to Kevin McCormick and his overall trophy to Billy Brooks. Knowing Andy, I truly believe he thought his pro-built motor was legal. Nice move, Andy, for doing that. Truly classy.

Having been an autocrosser back in the early 90's when Andy was last DQ'd, banned & fined, I hardly share your trust in Mr. Hollis.

Wow! look at SS all of the trophy spots (15) are separated by only .633! Say what you will about SCCA Solo classing, but SS is a real winner, I just wish I could afford to play too.

Kyle was .403 out of first on Thursday which put him in 11th ! Moved up to tenth today in Mr. T very nice SS car.

Im sure the people that have fallen to andy's protests are snickering up a storm...

The real reason he shimmed his valve springs is very simple. He still has an illegal final drive (andys custom tow package) hence the reason he needs more spring pressure. Shorter final drive equals more rpms/mph.

I wonder if Doug Gill said "You're d_ _ _ !"

Marshal needs to post the PM he received from Andy.

Sad part is no lapdances Friday
If it makes you feel better, I'd be happy to give you a lap dance, Steve. That would probably dislocate all the parts that aren't yet, so you'd be nice and even. }:)

Sounds like the rumor mill is starting. I heard absolutely nothing about Ti retainers on site or from those in the shed. I think that is bogus. All I heard all night was some rather sloppy shimming that appeared to be an effort to match and compensate, not increase seat pressure across all valves. Still illegal, but not worthy of marching with pitch forks and torches on the castle.

We know Andy's history. He paid that price. This year he had a dream season and I am convinced that came from his setup skill and his immense driving talent. No where is that better shown than his round wins in ProSolo. All that is lost. I do not believe that the violation discovered had any impact whatsoever on his 2008 wins.

I feel really bad for both Andy and Ann. I can't imagine. I was really worried and still am about Ann's health over it.

I know and Andy knows he's going to get crucified over this on the message boards. But I think the people in that room Friday night and who saw what happened have a softer opinion.

I cried for Will and David on that cat protest. It was sickening to watch my best friends in the sport go down like that. And I went around on it with Andy and Ann for a long time. Lots of people are spouting off about karma and payback and whatever and I think its BS. Andy was the best in our class this year and the DQ is a devastating blow. I wouldn't wish that on anybody and certainly not Andy and Ann.

Again I know the history and I understand the things about Andy's approach to competition that upset some people. But I have enormous respect for him and Ann. And during this seasons travels they have been a great source of encouragement for Stacey and I. And after I hurt my shoulder Ann was doing all she could to help.

I'm an advanced flame thrower, I don't see a worthy target here, just something sad that I wished hadn't happened.

I literally burst in laughter reading this!!

Then I went to read the forums at SCCAForums and it's too late. The bales of hay have been lit around the castle and smoke is brewing. I am amazed at hearing this.

I'd also like to point out that Kyle put in a bad ass drive as Gary's first driver, very impressive... and of coarse Gary did the most amazing AX run i've ever seen.

Kyle was the perfect co-driver: didn't argue with the hard-headed car owner, provided very useful feedback on the course and car, and helped make some difficult decisions on set-up changes to get us in the game. And when we were having trouble keeping the rear tires cool enough, he had the foresight to slow his last run way down after he had already hit a cone, giving me perfect tires for my last run

He also turned in some great times in a deep class, tying Paul Kozlak and beating Tom Kotzian, both multi-time national champs :king:
