AUG 9-11 San Francisco Region at Crows Landing
Just in time for Nationals, SFR SCCA is hosting a 2 day event at Crows Landing. Some of you may remember the old Atwater, and this site is very similar. Vast and concrete. Course design will be by Chris Cox, so you know it won't disappoint.

Great site!! About 4 hrs away towing. Most of all compete with Bay area autoxr's

Re: AUG 9-11 San Francisco Region at Crows Landing
I was starting to make plans until I checked the average temps in August. OUCH! 100 degrees just doesn't work in a black open cockpit car with no A/C car......at least not for me.
Looks like a great site October to April. Just too hot otherwise.
There is good news for those who are going. The nicest hotel in the area is a Priceline hotel with four free bid areas. Should be able to get it for 30% to 40% off rack rate.

For those of you that may be coming up, can I get a head count of who would plan on staying at the site in a motorhome or trailer? We've got a limit of 10 and I'd like to try and make sure people get spots. Thanks!

Saturday is a Test'n Tune? Can you provide any details on number of runs, etc?
There weren't any event details or description on the motorsportreg listing...

Wonder if the 2 runways would work for a ProSolo. ;)

I've asked the powers that be to share the details. As far as I know they haven't been posted anywhere yet.Sean Fenstermacher wrote:Saturday is a Test'n Tune? Can you provide any details on number of runs, etc?

Re: AUG 9-11 San Francisco Region at Crows Landing
For those of you that are interested in staying onsite in motorhomes or car trailers with sleeping facilities, we are only allowed to have 10 each night. We have 3 spots left...if you are interested please respond to the thread with your name and a contact method so I can put you on a list. There is also an RV campsite nearby in Patterson http://www.kitfoxrvpark.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Motorsportreg lists nearby hotels (Patterson), some with SCCA discounts. No tent camping is allowed.
It looks like the practice will be run in hour lots, meaning you work for an hour and you play for an hour. Sign up for run groups and work groups will be done on site Saturday.
As we have more info available we will post it on Motorsportreg, the BA site and here. We are still working out some details with the county and hope to have clear directions on what entrance to take to gain access to the site. A small group of us were at Crows today, the site looks great and we cant wait to put on the event!

Re: AUG 9-11 San Francisco Region at Crows Landing
Here is the latest info:
With the number of entries we have for the practice we will most likely have two courses to run on so everyone has plenty of runs. Morning runs on one course and afternoon runs on the other. Not sure how the working will work now that we will have two courses.
When you sign the waiver you will be asked to put your wrist band on right then and there. Wristbands are required to be worn on your wrist and visible at all times.
Follow these directions to the sites as the google directions will take you to a portion of the site that we are not permitted to access. Do not try to find a "better" way:
· Take the Fink Rd exit off Hwy 5 and continue east on Fink Rd for approximately 3.8 miles.
· Turn left on Hwy 33 and continue north on Hwy 33 for 1.2 miles.
· Turn left on W. Ike Crow Rd. Continue on W. Ike Crow Rd. to access the site
Event info:
Maintain 15 MPH or less while not on course at all times.
To ride or drive in a car on course, you must have the waiver wristband and the driver/passenger wristband.
Use the on-site dumpsters. Littering and loose trash will not be tolerated.
No alcohol on site.
Do not affix anything to the ground. If you are planning to bring a pop-up awning you need to bring weights to weigh it down.
Tech inspections: Fri 5:30pm-7pm, Sat 8am-1pm and Sun 8am-1pm. Annual Tech from SFR, Sac Chapter, Fresno Chapter and AAS will be honored.
Work Assignments for SFR Round 8 will be assigned on the day of the event on a first-come-first serve basis (with some exceptions) similar to a normal local event.
See you Friday, Saturday or Sunday!

Re: AUG 9-11 San Francisco Region at Crows Landing
Wow, it's been 19 years since last used for autocross, but it is even better than the memeories. The surface is still really grippy and in incredible shape, and the weather was perfect mornings in 70s, highs in mid 80s Sat upper 80s Sunday with a light breeze, and if they do continue running more events there, Pro Solo and a Tour should be back in NoCal.
It was a test, and all appeared to go really well with county officials attending, fun atmosphere, and I think all in attendance showed them that our sport has great organization, safety & responsibility.
Course by Chris Cox was awesome, was about 90 seconds, tons of transitions, and was really, really a blast!
Only 4 hours from SFvalley
