Great job this weekend by the SNAX team! First time I have run the SNAX Cup and I gotta say I had an awesome time. ( Driving KJ's Amod car was pretty ok also.) Fun group, even if your name is "Chang"!

My 3rd X run 47.516. Sorry......my official runs were just too embarrassing. Several mistakes here, too.

Re: Videos & Photos, SCNAX's CSCC Oct. '13 Event
My 3rd and fastest run ... 52.8 ... with the new GoPro3+ ... with the "Extra Immersive" Super 1080 setting. I added a ND.90 gel to get a slower shutter speed so that the track wouldn't be so staccato ... but the gel wasn't trimmed perfectly = a bit of vignetting in the corners. Also the gel wasn't quite flat and up against the front glass ... so the video get's flarey and flat occasionally when the sun hits the lens. Unfortunately I left it in for Leonards runs ... which made them very flarey and flat. Sorry Leonard!
Old front tires ... new rears - pushy, especially on top of the hill. Reduced front pressures a bit and it was just a bit better.
(Ooops ... still uploading)

Courtesy of SCNAX: 300 fps Slo Mo Videos http://public.fotki.com/makofoto/2013-r ... -oct-2013/
(Thanks to Pete L's Casio camera)
In the latter half there are also video's with my Canon. They were suppose to be slo-mo at 240 fps but the batch processing didn't work right. So if you see a file that you want processed to slo mo, just let me know.
Also got a few stills that I'm working on. Anthony also took a bunch in the afternoon.

Great slo-mo's, Mako. Thank you.
Your 3rd run video is pretty low quality on Youtube. Not sure why.

Re: Videos & Photos, SCNAX's CSCC Oct. '13 Event
Good now
Check out this short 4K GoPro3+ video of Karen's partial lap ... she got reflagged. (btw a few folks groaned that Mike P. red flagged her seemingly early. The fact is there were no other red flags between her and the incident. Shortage of personal apparently.)
You might need to down load this first ... in order to see the 4K without stoppages.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vvsb8cAVo4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
BTW. shot with a 3 stop neutral density filter ... in order to get a slower shutter speed, so that the track would blur rather then be staccato. Better sensation of speed?
The ND filter is what is causing the vignetting and flare, because it wasn't trimmed precisely enough, nor is it flat against the protective glass. AND shot at 12 fps ... the fastest the GoPro will shoot 4K at this setting. There is another setting that allows 15 fps 4K.

THIS is what the CANON slo mo is suppose to look like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4p9xPejzow
... so like I said, if you find a video file that isn't slo mo, tell me which one and I'll re-process it

Mako
The slo mo is fantastic. It looks like my car might scrape the front bumper on the ground sometime soon. I do like the rotation with a rear sway though. Stock is all about compromise.
thanks again for your efforts with innovative photography out on course.

You're right. I thought we had an event on the 27th for some reason. Don't mind me, I don't know what day it is these days.Rick Brown wrote:We do?
