FAQ for the Locals!
Registration
Pre-Reg Weekend: $75, includes free shirt and food
Late Reg Weekend: $100
One Day Entry: $40
Registration for the Divisional is being done differently from our normal regional events. The Pre-Registration site can be found on the Divisional Series web site (http://www.CaliforniaDivSeries.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) or directly at http://sccacds.motorsportreg.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Pre-Registration requires payment of entry fees of $75 for the weekend. This includes a Friday night welcome party, a Saturday lunch and a free t-shirt.
Pre-registration is highly encouraged to help the organizers plan for shirts, food, grid, paddock and tons of other behind the scenes aspects. Pre-registration is open until 4pm the Wednesday before the event. Late entries will be taken only during the Friday registration period for $100 with no shirt or food tickets given.
The CalClub Divisional is primarily a two day event. The pre-registration site above will only take ‘weekend’ entries. It is highly encouraged that drivers enter both days, but one day only entries are allowed for $40 with no shirt or food tickets given. One day entries must be pre-coordinated through the event chair (woodrufj@yahoo.com) no later than July 15th, there will be no late one day entries allowed.
How Divisional scoring will work
The results for the Divisional are scored much like a national tour. Each day’s competition (Saturday and Sunday) will be on a different course. Driver’s top time from each day are added together to get a Divisional result.
How regional scoring will work
The CalClub Divisional will count as two individual regional championships, one based on Saturday’s performances and one on Sunday’s performances. For this event only, non-points card holders will be removed from the results for points purposes. For most driver’s your regional score will simply be how well you did within the Divisional class you drove each day. Drivers competing for season championships in PAX, PAXL and CPM will have each day of their Divisional results indexed together to produce regional scores.
There will be limited exceptions made that will allow some drivers to compete in the Divisional under one class but apply their times to a different regional class scoring. For example a driver competes in HIST locally, but wishes to compete in FSP at the Divisional. This driver would compete in FSP at the Divisional, and then have his times transferred to HIST after the competition for determining regional points. A list of these exceptions will be posted before the event. If you have such a case contact the event chair Jayson Woodruff (woodrufj@yahoo.com) to discuss.
Numbers and sharing a car
It is not necessary to use your SoCal Solo points card numbers at this event. Although not required, it is encouraged that you use the ‘National Style’ numbering system when registering, which is choosing any number 1-99 for a first driver and adding 100 to the number for a second driver. Numbers are available on a first come first served basis per class (e.g. 99 in AS is seen as different from 99 in CSP). As always, easy to read numbers and class letters are required on the car.
Run/Work groups
Due to the nature of this event the run heats will not follow the normal CalClub rotation. Most likely there will be 5 run groups, two before lunch and three after. Each day will follow the same order with Saturday starting at 9am and Sunday at 8am. The exact run group order will be determined after pre-registration closes and posted the Thursday before the event.
Required Decals
Due to the sponsorship of this event, there are a few decals that are required to be on every competing car. Car’s will need these decals in place before passing tech. A ‘ProParts USA’ decal is required on each side of the car. A ‘Tire Rack’ windshield banner or 'TireRack Divisional Champ' decal on each side is required. The required decals will be available at tech for no charge. It is allowed to put the required decals on magnet or tape for easy removal after the event, but the decals have to contrast and be visible on the car.
Contingencies
Contingencies are available for Divisional Series results from Kumho, Hoosier, Bridgestone, Mazda and Subaru. Contingencies are also available for the SK1, SK2, the combined CSM/SU, and ladies counterparts for Div Dual results (see below for Div Dual info). It is the driver’s responsibility to register and comply with all of the manufactures rules regarding contingencies.

No registering required
Grid
For the Divisional there will be a ‘Grid A’ and a ‘Grid B’. Grid spots are numbered and pre-assigned (typically by your car number). Before proceeding to the grid, drivers should check the posted grid sheet for their grid location. Co-drivers share the same gird location. The assigned grid spot should be the same for both days.
Impound (weighing)
At the Divisional will be the added period of ‘Impound’. This is the period of time for competitors to inspect class compliance and wait for preliminary results. Impound will occur back at your assigned grid location.
Each day after the final run of the final driver, cars that have a minimum weight requirement should proceed to the scales to be weighed before proceeding back to their grid location. All other cars should proceed directly to their grid location. Cars must remain in place with hoods and trunks open until released by the chief of impound. Not reporting to impound or refusing inspection can lead to a DSQ. Special exceptions can be made for cars than need to be in the next run group.
Protests
Protests while undesirable are a lot more common at national level events due to the higher stakes. Protests against cars should be brought up to the Chief of Protest or Chief Steward during the impound period. A protest against class competition (including Timing and Scoring) should be brought up to the Chief of Protest or Chief Steward within 30 minutes of the cars being release from impound. A protest against the event shall occur no more than 30 minutes after the last class is released from impound. A Protest fee of $25 to $50 is required, but it is returned if the protest holds or if the protest committee decides to do so.
Test & Tune
A test and tune period has been confirmed for Friday from 2 to 5pm. Cost is not set in stone, but $2/run is expected plus a short work assignment. This should be a larger test & tune course than what is typical at National Tours, boardering on the length of a normal event course.

I've started a list of these 'regional scoring exceptions'. They're posted here so there's no surprizes. Please e-mail me if you have issues with any of the exceptions or if you are a driver that needs an exception. (Some of the HIST guys are pending clarification). Note I'm only listing those that are registered for the CSCC Divisional. This will get updated as necessary.

It means some a couple guys asked about switching class, but haven't exactly clairfied what they want to do.
HIST is an available class for the LA divisional, and several have already signed up for it.

It took us (well Leslie mostly) over 4 hours to balance the run/work groups and factor in all the chiefs etc and do the work assignments for the SD divisional.
Then there was the countless hours by Larry trying to get the registration list into a format that would download into AXWare.
So be patient. Jayson is a little busy right now.

We run and work after lunch, can we show up before lunch and still get registered and teched?

I see the run groups but not the work groups. It looks like the right side of the run/work table is cut off.

I plan to come by on Saturday to take pictures. Probably going to be out there early to walk the course with you guys. Is there a preferred segment of time for me to talk to the safety steward? ie, before/after drivers meeting, before/after tech, etc.

.... yeah, I ws planning on heading out Saturday. (no need to stay out there an extra day is there?)

Does that mean the the course walkers have to dodge cars for an hour? or does it mean the poeple are the cones for an hour?

Nope, Tech and reg 7-8 Satuday. Friday reg 5-7, tech 1-7. We need to check in early so grid and work assignemnts can be done.
