Here is a vid of my 125cc KM Kart, run #4- raw time of 53.596 (better vid quality on this run)
My best was run #2- raw time of 53.071
I had a great weekend, super venue with excellently laid course, complete with nice people! Well done!
(I had some fuel starvation issues so if you hear some points where it sounds like I was doing something weird with the gas that's what it is)

My kids are finally old enough to ride in a car (oddly, after autocrossing for half their life in karts!), so they came along in the STC Civic for some X runs....

Cyan:

Both kids were surprised by the braking and both thought the car turned harder than their kart (it doesn't!).

Time difference was 0.234

Fun course...just need to get used to not using physical elements as land marks when driving on an airfield lol. Got used to the Q LOL! Thanks for a fun event. Last run group literally drove off into the sunset!

It's great seeing others runs to tell where I could be faster.

This is my two fastest:

And two that ended up un timed, but have some good almost spins...

Leonard I never tried the left slalom line but I guess it worked for you!

I didn't like it when I walked it, but it drove much better than I thought and I enjoyed it. Well done Kurt.

Edit: Except the optional slalom. I'm not a fan of those as I think everyone should drive the same course.

lol. It was good to see on both Max's and Brian's videos that I wasn't the only one who thought the left would work. I took the right side on several instructor runs and it worked well on cars with either more power or didn't turn well.

I tried both lines as well. I compared the videos side by side, and saw that entering on the left had me faster through the slalom, but slower through the right and left turns afterward. Overall time in that section was about the same either way for me.

I know it was a wash on Saturday - tried both ways and came up with the same time. It just came down to personal preference.

Discussing which way to go, with people split, shows this was a true option. What car you drive, your driving style, being the factors to choose which way to go. I chose right, due to my big booty car. If I were in my STR MX5, I would have gone left. The exit was my deciding factor, seeing the entry had me going left, until I got to the exit, and changed my mind to right. The hard right, followed by the left right combo transitions, was the motivating factor on my choice. Going left would have made the right after the slalom very tough, in my chubby butt Corvette, which would lead to being behind through the next combination of corners.

Saturday was a push on which way to go, at least in my car. I tried both, times were about the same. Go left, struggle with the entry, but gain the exit. Go right, entry still not easy, and exit became an issue with my power and bulbous back side.

Here is my best run in my 2005 Honda S2000 with a time of 60.537s:

It was good for 4th place out of 15 drivers in S1.

I was working course when Max ran, he was much quicker when he went to the left. I tried both ways also and going left made the distance shorter and fewer cones to go around and the right after it was no problem. My slowest lap was going to the right. Every car that went through who tried the left side stuck with it after trying it, all of them tried the right side first. Max should show the video of his first lap so we can get a comparison.
