Attention AutoX Drivers.

Because one time at altitude is just not enough! JayCom has an interesting weekend coming up July 16-17. We're escaping the inland heat again and climbing up Big Bear Mountain to Snow Valley Mountain Resort (Running Springs, Ca). 20 degrees cooler last I checked.

We're putting on two different events this weekend, both rather unique

Jul 16th - The Versus event. Essentially an open to all AutoX practice, but we target two marquees with a discount. This event will be Miatas (winners of the last Versus event) and 4WD Subarus! The normal entry is $60, Versus cars get $15 off of that. For a NO WORK AutoX (really unheard of anywhere else). Details can be found on linked pages, but essentially the competition is subjective and the winners get invited to the next one at a discount (October).

Jul 17th - The Tarmac RallyX. The first time we've tried this, but looks like it'll be a lot of fun. Snow Valley has a lot of gravel and dirt on pavement that we can take advantage of to create a loose surface pavement event. In addition we'll be scoring eight runs in RallyX style (cumulative time) in RallyX classes. After that, fun runs 'til you puke. Again normal entry is $60 and again, NO WORK!

These events are as casual as you want to make them. Great for the first timer, but we're sophisticated enough in timing and course design for the ultimate racer to have a good time.

Pre-registration ends on Thursday!

Both days are low on entries, but we'll go forward regardless. Last chance at the high altitude fun until next year.

Pre-registration is open until tomorrow night for both events. After that, you can walk up, but it'll cost you a little more.

Both days are light on attendance, so we're looking at getting a TON of runs.

Saturday's Versus AutoX currently has almost equal Miatas and AWD Subarus on the list. While there's more to the subjective competition, attendance is part of it. Should be a fun little grudge match!

Sunday's Tarmac RallyX is attracting a good number of drivers. A perfect place to try out RallyX without the normal rut and rock concerns, just good old loose surface fun.

Plenty to do in Big Bear if you want to make a weekend out of it. You can find me roaming the bars Saturday night.
