SCNAX CUP XI 2016: Eleven times the Cone-liciousness

Postby Jonathan Hartendorp » Mon Oct 03, 2016 12:21 pm

A long time ago, in some parking lot far far away at a Southern California racetrack...

SCNAX CUP XI 2016: Eleven times the Cone-liciousness! :o  :)

The infamously-famous SCNAX Cup is back again for a one-day TEAM competition happening on Saturday October 22nd, 2016 that lets you test your driving skills in different cars against other drivers!

Teams consisting of 3 drivers in 3 cars compete against each other in a battle of driving skill, precision, and wits in order to see who is the fastest to win the SCNAX Cup!

 GENERAL RULES :

Drivers:

3 drivers, 3 cars (2 okay for teams w/normal co-drivers)

*NEW FOR 2016*: ALL cars on a team can have the SAME drivetrain! (all FWD, RWD, AWD, Kart/UWD)...

……BUT if one of the cars is of a different drivetrain, that team will get a “special” handicap/multiplier/addition/subtraction etc. to be determined which will help in netting a LOWER total time for their team.
Example: 2 miatas, 1 Subaru WRX.

3 cars is still HIGHLY recommended for logistics & fun purposes

Competition:

Saturday, only 4 runs per driver in each car (3 cars x 4 runs per car= 12 total).

Team Points - The BEST RUN for each driver in each car COUNTS ONLY! (For 2 car teams, best time in each car, but car w/2 times must be from different drivers). Points/times are off indexing system (combination of car class time + driver indexing below), not raw time.

Numbering:

Number system is similar to Nationals/Regionals - xx, 1xx, 2xx; no local numbers, easier to keep track of teams

The basic format is choose a 2 digit # (give me your first, second, and 3rd choices), your numbers will be:

## - Driver 1 (Team Captain)
1## - Driver 2
2## - Driver 3

(aka Super extended Nationals style multi driver numbering system)

Indexing System:

With each entry, you will be required to provide their most recent 3 event results for indexing (we will only count 2012-2016) - event date, your car class, your pax time, and top pax time of that event. In addition:

- if you do not supply it, you will run some default handicap (based on class leader or something of our choosing).
- if you don't have 3 events between 2014-2015, we will average out however many they have run and/or add a default handicap depending on situation (again of our choosing)
- if you lie about your index, you will run some default handicap + extra punishment (evil punishment to be determined  )

And *NEW for 2016*: If your team has at least one car that is a different drivetrain from the rest, a special handicap/multiplier/addition/subtraction etc. (to be determined) will be applied that will lower your team’s total time. Yes, that's right!

 AWARDS:

The SCNAX CUP will be awarded to the FASTEST team! :D

AND trophies will be given out to the 2nd and 3rd place teams along with these awards:

> "MVP" Most Valuable Pax - The driver with the lowest raw time (before driver's PAX) :)

> "MVC" Most Valuable Car Award - The car with the lowest total PAX Time

> "MVD" Most Valuable Driver Award – The driver with the lowest fully indexed total time ;)

Other awards to be determined as the event draws closer...

 HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR THIS???

SO can YOU turn the knob up to ELEVEN and WIN this eleventh edition of the SCNAX CUP??? :o

ARE you ready to engage in a little friendly one-upmanship for BRAGGIN' RIGHTS, KUDOS, and CHEETOS???

THEN Please do these 2 things:

1.) Register for the October 22nd Practice
https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/legends-of-fall-tober-practice-hosted-by-scnax-auto-club-speedway-scca-286235

AND

2.) ALL SCNAX CUP competitors, please fill out this google form :
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScLM3H3vxWdohmeWQzRQ8YWpG3-WdDkeOslfVsQFehxUgJkCg/viewform?c=0&w=1

THANK YOU and see you ladies and gents out there!!!

If an adult runs a JA kart, can they be paxed as JA and not KM for SCNAX cup?

Does Team Unnamed want a JA kart teammate? (You'll probably have to be somewhere between 5'9" and 6' to fit the kart)

I'm game. Adam?

Don't have driver suit or full face helmet though.... would need to solve this somehow.

Driver's suit not required, just full coverage. Jeans, a jacket and gloves.

As long as the kart is built to JA specs, I see no problem. Ur adult handicap is your weight hahaha. And if Dane or Cyan raw times you, u owe them new minecraft toys!

Craig, I got your PM in my email but it's not in my inbox here. I sent a new message but it's in the Outbox, not the Sent Items so I'm not sure if you'll get it.

Craig called Stacey and Stacey called me for permission....
I convinced her to do it, but she doesn't have a car. And a minivan is no bueno in stock.

She is calling Craig back. Could she do something like run 2 laps in Craig's and 2 laps in Adam's to count as a "car"?

Don't feel bad Adam. Stacey tried to run Robert's Kart and even with his new bigger seat she still couldn't come close to fitting. Karts are for the anemic.

Stacey's driving pax is going to ROCK!!!! FM is painful in the beginning. ;)

I just submitted the form for her. I'll call her about which car. I'm guessing Craig's since she's driven that car before.

The google form didn't ask for pax time or pax leader. But early directions asked for them. Am I the only one that can't follow directions. Lawyers with bad eyesight. :(

That was back in the day. I've gone ahead and inputted all that information for the past 3 years into my doc so you no longer have to provide it ;).
