Thanks Kurt. We'll be happy to have you. We were planning on reaching out to instructors at the next event (Sept), but if we have some of our instructors interested, please feel free to post here or reach out to me (or Jon Hartendorp or Leonard Cachola).

I am looking to attend, is there anyone in SGV that would be willing to "tech" my car so I can prepare it for the school? I will come to you on your schedule of course! :D

In general, pre-teching isn't necessary. All depends on the car, a newer car with little or no modifications it's very simple, an older car or heavily modified car is looked at more carefully. Tech is all about safety: Wheels on securely, no play in wheel bearings, adequate tread on tires, no loose items in car or trunk, no fluid leaks in engine compartment, positive throttle return, good brake feel, no looseness in steering. Tech is not about classing or class legality, although the Tech people can often help with that. Tell us what you have and what has been to it, we can be more helpful.

To perhaps assist you with what we're specifically looking for:

Jump down to section 3.3.3 (B) ..... there's a checklist there of most everything we're specifically looking for. Of course we're also exercising some common sense beyond the checklist, but that should give you an idea of what kind of shape we expect your vehicle to be in.

Will the open practice on Sunday be a traditional AutoX course or something designed to expose and develop specific skills?

Every autocross course is something that exposes and develops specific skills :D

The Sunday event will be the same course run Saturday but in reverse and an opportunity to practice the new skills learned on Saturday. There will be a variety of elements slaloms, slow corners, faster corners, a 180 deg turn around, and a Chicago box.

I'm about to sign Maddie up for the school. I haven't heard back from anyone about me instructing. Are you guys all set for instructors? I really want someone else to instruct Maddie (she doesn't listen to me  )

Hey Kurt,

Sorry...my "We'd be happy to have you" post was intended to be a formal invitation to instruct for us. I see you and Maddie are signed up now, so thanks for volunteering and we're looking forward to seeing you out there!

Hi David,

I see you're on the waitlist right now. But to directly answer your question, we typically have a school every year.

Is the sunday practice transferable? I might not be able to make Sunday practice but I might have a replacement so at least my spot doesn't go to waste.

But I've already sold the Sunday option in return for bitcoins.

Ok, I will be able to attend some practices beginning next year and beg and bribe some experienced folk to ride along! I am in the middle of some small repairs, suspension stuff, to my Camaro so I don't expect to have any specific problems with tech.

Thanks!

Thank you very much to all the volunteers who helped make this school happen. From what I saw, things went smoothly, the students enjoyed themselves AND learned.

Great job everyone!
