1997 BMW M3

Post by Tin Bui »

I said I would never sell this car, but after much reflection of good life changes, I'm putting my 1997 BMW M3 for sale. It's been sitting for over two years since I last autocrossed in 2017. This is a great fun car to autocross and track with. I'm the fourth owner of this vehicle. Prior owner is a well known autocrosser. Car is well maintained, clean (garage kept), and in beautiful condition. Prepped for STR.

1997 BMW M3 2 Door 5-speed MT with Sun Roof
Mileage: 135K
Color: Arctic Silver Metallic

Engine:
- Internal and Software - Stock!
- Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator

Intake:
-AFE Intake

Exhaust:
- Borla Catback (Not the race version)

Transmission:
- Vorshlag Poly Mounts
- Dual Shear Shift Arm (Forgot the brand, Rogue?)
- Short Shift Kit (I think UUC)
- SS Braided Clutch Line (delay valve removed)

Diff:
- Diffs Online Special
- AKG Bushings

Suspension:
- JRZ RS1 with Hypercoil Springs
- Turner Sway Bars (Front and Rear, but I don't run rears)
- Turner Sway Bar Links
- Vorshlag Camber Plates (Rebuilt with new bearings in 2017 by Vorshlag)
- BMW Front Strut Bar Backings Plates
- Powerflex Front and Rear Control Arm Bushings
- Bimmerworld Rear Adjustable Control Arms (Rubber bushing type, not spherical)
- Rogue Engineering Rear Shock Bushing
- Mason Engineering Front Strut Tower Bar

Wheels/Tires:
- APEX 17x9 Wheels (Matte Black)
- H&R Front Wheel Spacers (12mm)
- BS RE-71R 255/40R17
- Vorshlag Wheel Studs (last replaced in 2016)

Brakes:
- Brembo Cross Drilled Rotors
- PFC Z Rated Pads
- SS Braided Brake Lines (Goodrich?)

Interior:
- Driver side - Recaro SPG XL (Has a little kick out which allows the seat belt receptacle to run inside the seat. This allows the seat belt to go over your lap, rather than the unsafe way of having the seat belt go over the seat).
- Bimmerword seat base (no sliders)
- Replaced deteriorated headliner with suede fabric.
- Momo Leather Wheel with Rogue Engineering Quick Release

Regarding maintenance, I don't have records since I planned to never sell it. However here is my minimum maintenance periods:
Engine Oil: Every 3,000 Miles (Mobil 15W-50) or Every Year
Transmissions and Diff Oil (Redline): Every Year
Brake Fluid (Motul): Every Year

Regarding issues, it's in safe and running condition ready for any driving! A new head was installed about 40K miles ago. It does have a cracked rear sway bar mount, which is not a big issue since I run the vehicle without a rear sway bar. I haven't had many issues, since I"ve done preventative maintenance which include all oil lines, breather lines, VANOs mechanics and solenoid, wheel bearings, guibo, etc. This is a low cost running car.

Asking $16,000 or best reasonable offer. Email at kaizenracing at gmail dot com.
