They don't list trailer weights.

Why does my car say I can tow a combined weight of load and trailer then?

There you go. You'd think that any trailer manufacturer might want to list the weights of their trailers. Kinda important.

So no way I can tow a trailer and the Vette behind my Previa ... which is limited to 3,550 lbs. The only reason I'm even considering towing is that when Rod Millen was winning Pikes Peak, he towed his race car behind his SC Previa! He loved that van like I like mine. (We use to do commercials together ... he being a High Speed Precision driver in the Biz.)

So perhaps I can tow the Miata!?

Karen and I are having a problem figuring out how we're going to get both cars to our events, plus all of the support that we need, ie. tires, cooler, cameras.

I guess the major diffrence is that the pikes peak cars weighed less than 2000 pounds.

Maybe next year ... this year I still want to be around in the Miata to let my fellow SST competitors kick me around. :unimpressed:

Not any more ... too heavy ... so thinking about towing the Miata ... about 2,200 lb. Maybe eventually we would get a better tow vehicle. But trucks don't work for me. I like the low load-in of my van for carrying big motion picture camera packages. Can't have an open truck ... don't like crawling into covered trucks.

The Danger Ranger  is WIN! I have much more respect for that little truck now than I used to. I still think my truck will win a race towing up the hills.

Mako: It sounds like the only feasible solution is tire trailers... :unimpressed:

Have you considered a tow bar (and maybe an extra set of wheels / tires) and flat towing the Miata? No tongue weight issues, and much more within the towing capacity of the Previa.

Yeah ... but it adds so much hardware weight to the front of the little Miata ... but yeah ... the Z06 could handle it! :barf:

Before we got our trailer, I was thinking of designing some quick connect towbar mounts that would mount on the Miata tie down eyes...

How about a two wheel dolly. I towed the MR2 to Oklahoma City on a dolly without issue.
