100cell High Flow Cat Converters for new ST rules

Post by Richard Jung »

Hi,
I'm bringing some of 100 cell stainless steel race converters down to the SD tour this weekend for Seb, Michael H., Steve E., and Pete L. A few other top STR and STX competitors have also purchased one recently.

- The 100 cell race converters have been very successful in STU and STX, now the rules allow them in all ST classes.
- Highest flowing converter on the market, most others are 300 or 200 cells/in.
- Weighs 2.5lbs.
- Multiple national championships won with this converter.
- Weld-in design, 3" or 2.5" i/o diameter only.
- Housing is ~ 6"L, 4" dia at the core.

LMK if you are interested in one. I'll bring a couple of extras to the Tour. Or PM me for more info.

Thanks,

RIck

Isn't this just a proposal?

The following rule change proposals are submitted for member review and comment:
- Modify 14.10.E as follows (#7225):
1) Remove the words “high flow” from the first sentence.
2) Add new sentence: “Replacement converters must have a minimum catalyst density of 100 cells per inch
and minimum substrate length of 3”.
Note: this more clearly defines what a catalytic converter is and a minimum level of functionality. It should have no
effect on existing installations of legitimate automotive converters.

I think there was an earlier rule allowance. This cat would meet proposal (2). Quite a few drivers in other ST classes have inquired about it, so I assume they know about the current rule allowance.

More info:
- Most have the cat welded into a low-cost test pipe.
- Our local exhaust shop can expand the exhaust tubing to fit, and weld the new cat in for about $40
- Cost - $120 each.

Thanks,

Rick

For 2012 all classes within the ST hierarchy are using what was the old stu feline rules.

$120 for all sizes on this order. There may be one 2.5" left, that size went fast at the tour. A few people are getting them installed Friday before the Pro at a local exhaust shop.

Saboor, two things....

We typically use our real names on this forum, I apologize if Saboor is a non Anglo saxon name I am just not familiar with.
If you could change your logon to you First real name and a partial last name that would be appreciated and would give the rest of the community assurance you are not someone wasting our time.

Secondly. This topic has nothing to do with Tires.

Please post in the For Sale/Wanted forum.

Pete, I think you may have insulted Saboor.

But, while we're on the subject, does anyone know where one can buy Skittles? Perhaps I'm not looking correctly.

Skittles should be easier to find than a discontinued R compound Goodyear.
