WTR (Want To Rent): a good DSLR and maybe a 300mm lens

Post by Bill Schenker »

So, my non-Facebook friends may not know, but thanks to my wife and some friends, we're going to the F1 race in Monaco over the Memorial Day weekend; yes, if you don't already hate me, you now can now do so with a free conscience.

But to the point: I would like to take some nice pictures from our Casino turn grandstand seats (go ahead, hate me some more - I would), and I don't have a good camera. I may rent a good 300mm lens, but I need the camera body and a 35ish mm lens for landscapes.

Anyone want to rent me one for the week at a reasonable price?

TIA

Bill

BUY this:

http://m.costco.com/Canon-T4i-DSLR-Came ... 25018.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Remember that with that size sensor that 250 is equal to a 400 mm

Then sell it to me after you're done :)

Jill says you can borrow her old rig for free.

D70 and a Tamron 28-300 zoom.
You're welcome to borrow it for a few days to try it out. It's probably a little better than an iPhone.

I also have an old Sigma 400 and a F3 if you're feeling artsy... :-)

One of these days...

We missed the Spanish Gran Premio 3 years ago because the last-minute tickets were so expensive (decided to enjoy Barcelona instead). On the following week we arrived at Monaco 2 days before the Gran Prix.

Enjoy!

You're welcome to borrow my new Pentax K-30 w/ 18-250mm lens for the price of a couple paragraph write-up & letting me use the pics for a blog I'm writing car stuff for :) - write-up & photo credits will be given to you of course, they're just interested in the traffic it will generate.

Of course, you'll have to put up w/ walking around w/ an orange camera.

I don't think color coordination or the potential fashion faux pas have ever worried Mr. Schenker...

And you'll have to accept the risk that he might end up having your camera while sitting naked on the sofa.

Thank you, Art, but I have taken QV up on his gracious offer and picked up his camera yesterday. The camera body is orange and not Ferrari red, but it will do ;-). Thanks again, QV!
