Perpetual Hotel for Event Thread (priceline, etc)

I thought I'd start this for people going to the tour and looking for hotels.

I Priceline everything. For both the SCNAX practice/championship in early March and the National Tour I was able to get 3* hotels in the Sorrento Mesa area of San Diego for a bid of $40.

March 7, 2009 Country Inn and Suites $40

March 20-22, 2009 Staybridge Suites Sorrento Mesa $40 per night

I have stayed at both properties and have enjoyed both. They are about 8 miles west or Qualcomm. The area is clean and safe. Parking is free. Restaurants are plentiful. Good luck with your bidding.

How things change. Back when I had a motorhome (a loooooong time ago) it was $12 to $15 a night with full hookup.

$68 is their most expenisve space. But yeah.... The two Mission Bay RV parks are really convenient... Really beautiful... And really expensive. Given we are going to be busy doing Sea World and Zoo then race, we probably will go inland to the KOA, its like $28.

When I brought my RV down to SD in 2007, half the fun was staying in the paddock area and having a place to hang out with friends during the day, bbq'ing at night etc. The only downside was the light rail noise, but that wasn't too bad. And, it cost exactly zero...why the heck you going to pay to stay off site and miss out on all that fun? :)

I don't think they would welcome me on Wed and Thurs nights......

Family mini vacation. Hitting Sea World and the Zoo before the race.

I gotta think 8 miles west of Qualcomm puts you on a BOAT of some type, yes? Clean & safe & free parking yes. Restaurants, bring fishing pole.

You have to bid on the area, you dont get to pick the hotel.

Four Points Sheraton still has rooms for $70/night. I guess it is only 3 miles from the site, based on what they told me??

It felt longer than 3 miles to me, but its close enough.
