Notes on a timing slip - El Toro Divisional
1. The "Alcohol as a appetite suppressant" diet works real well. I lost 6 pounds this weekend...
2. Gary Thomasson is the Dean Martin of solo. Best straight man I've ever worked with in the motorhome...
3. On a semi related note, I don't know which I want more. The GT3s of Gary and Chris or their talent...
4. Not many urges for ham this weekend but a few for milk...
5. The car seems much better on the road today with the shocks mistakenly left at full stiff as opposed to driving on the road last week with 50+ pounds of air in each tire...
6. "Because I'm a..."
7. I hope that when I leave the planet someday, people will run the number 9 on their cars in my honor...
8. The power of having to wear a skirt is a remarkable motivational tool...

1. It *is* possible to drive 6 different cars in 3 events in 1 class...
(Linda McHugh pointed out: Patty Wang SFR: Subaru Impreza L, BMW 318i SDR: Volkswagen Rabbit S CSCC: Volkswagen Jetta WE AT, Audi 90 Quattro, Honda Civic)
2. McHugh & Co. = awesome
3. Bringing an automatic paper airplane to a Galaxy-Class HStock spaceship battle is an exercise in futility...
4. You don't feel so bad about your pile of crap Audi after watching Pete's STI bumper fall apart after brushing a cone
5. Metal Plate in head + Autocross car with fresh motor = 12,000 rpm 2nd to 1st "upshift," according to Isley
6. Having dogs around helps cool the head after someone leaves the keys to the racecar on her desk in her house in El Monte...

Obviously, Guy Ankeny designs horsepower courses. Just imagine how the hurt would go if we'd slid in an extra Mike Simanyi 12 cone death by slalom exercise.

Why is that - had I had a perfect lap yesterday, I think I could have got down to low 76's, not not much more? There were a couple of slow corners you think a power car would have an advantage, but it seemed to me it was a grip course over everything else.
It was a fun course - the section into the Chicago box and out again on Sunday was enormously entertaining.

I believe Marshall's only comment after seeing the video of my fast lap on sunday was, "Screw street tires!"Max Hayter wrote:Mihai Surubariu wrote:STS>STX>STU

Greg is a great guy and very generous-Thanks for the ride!
The dirty Romanian can really pull one out sometimes- Great Driving Mihai!
Can we have more events at El Toro? It seems like the only time I get to drive on the surface is when it's the big events, It's definitely different than CA-Speedway and the Q.
