the 1:30 is available but 4:00 is not. But I believe if you're there for the 1:30 that you can stay for the whole thing. Anyway, I registered.

Downey Studio ... just did a "XXXXX" car commercial there. Sworn to secrecy ... but it was funny. When they uncovered the car ... why it looks just like last years model!?
Should be fun ...

that's a lotta X's.. is there a homogenized system on what each additional X entails?..Mako Koiwai wrote:Downey Studio ... just did a "XXXXX" car commercial there. Sworn to secrecy ... but it was funny. When they uncovered the car ... why it looks just like last years model!?

Re: Tickets to be audience for Top Gear show this sat
Interesting. I love the UK version...been watching it for a few years, first on Discovery (?), then on BBC America. I really like Adam Carolla too, but I don't know if he and the other two will be able to match the chemistry and goofiness of Jeremy, Hamster and Captain Slow. I'll be watching hopefully, though.James Yom wrote:the 1:30 is available but 4:00 is not. But I believe if you're there for the 1:30 that you can stay for the whole thing. Anyway, I registered.

There's a version of the show without Jeremy Clarkson? Why would anybody want to watch that? I love him to bits.

With NBC in a quandry on how to keep Jay Leno on NBC after the Tonight Show gets ripped from him to that Conan clown... Isn't an American Top Gear the perfect vehicle for Leno????

So nobody wants to go see it huh? Well, I have a couple tickets left, so if you'd like to come, just let me know.
Re: Tickets to be audience for Top Gear show this sat
Well, I went to the taping last night, and I must say, it was better than I expected. Carolla is a pretty funny guy and is really witty on the fly. Tanner and Eric... ehhhh. They coulda done a lot better than those two. If anything sinks the program, it'll be those 2. Top Gear is like a FWD with Carolla being the front end and the other two are the rear end: they just hold up the trunk.
The celebrity was pretty funny though hahaha.

No. NBC doesn't want Jay for anything. They are giving him the boot. It's all part of the plan to destroy the network. You can't believe the insanity going on there right now.Steve Ekstrand wrote:With NBC in a quandry on how to keep Jay Leno on NBC after the Tonight Show gets ripped from him to that Conan clown... But Steve's right: Jay would be the perfect host for Top Gear. Too bad common sense isn't part of network TV.

While I like Jay Leno I think he would be all wrong for Top Gear. Leno is obviously a car guy but I can't see him being as brutally honest as Clarkson but thats what the show needs. Jay does projects with GM so you could hardly expect him to be impartial.Tom Tanquary wrote:No. NBC doesn't want Jay for anything. They are giving him the boot. BTW, from what I've read they are specifically not doing an "Americanized" version of Top Gear but the exact same show only with American hosts and venues.

Yeah they need Simon Cowell + a sense of humor.I can't see him being as brutally honest as Clarkson but thats what the show needs.

Re: Tickets to be audience for Top Gear show this sat
If you search the web for the early threads on American Top Gear, Leno said right away he was not interested in being part of the show. I am sure he is smart enough to know that the sequel is never as good as the original. Plus, based on the "talent" they hired, I doubt they could afford Leno.Steve Ekstrand wrote:With NBC in a quandry on how to keep Jay Leno on NBC after the Tonight Show gets ripped from him to that Conan clown... I think Ekstrand, Thomason and Isley would be a better team for the show.
