Ca Speedway Riddle

Post by Sebastian Rios »

Shauna found some paper blowing across the course when she was working.

It is a hanwritten note that looks like some kind of riddle.

I can't read it all but here's my best transcription job.

First think of the person who lives in disguise. Who deals in secrets, and tells naught but lies.
Next tell me what's always the last thing to (meet, med?) the middle of middle and end of the end.
And now give me the sound often heard during the search for a hard to find word.
Now string them together and answer me this which creature would you be unwilling to kiss?

I can't figure it out.
Hopefully the attachment works, so you can see the original. (edit, I guess the attachment won't work, it's a PDF)

spoiler below...

1. First think of the person who lives in disguise. Who deals in secrets, and tells naught but lies. "spy"
2. Next tell me what's always the last thing to (meet, med?) the middle of middle and end of the end. don't know what the first part is, but middle of "middle" and end of "end" is the letter "d"
3. And now give me the sound often heard during the search for a hard to find word. "er"

Nice one :)

Aha! I always liked Italian spyders as opposed to the arachnid version.

Although the camel spider is quite a bit larger, they are the same family as the Sun Spider(Wind Scorpion) that roams the desert up here. They are not poisonous but can/will bite a human. I've had two so far in my house in the year since its been built. Scary to look at when you first wake up, and they run fast too.

Earl lives on the edge of the Mojave.

Two things about this type of spider I don't like, the ability to inflict a serious wound and the speed with which they can get away. I lived where they were an issue, I'd load up on snake shot.

I actually live in the town of Mojave.

All 4 of these Sun Spiders I have seen in the last 9 years have been between 3-5" in diameter(including legs). I have read quite a few pages on them in the last few few months. There are conflicting speeds on which they can run, but if you take an average of the articles I've read, 8mph is what I come up with( I discarded the article that stated they could run in excess of 25mph). But even at the slowest stated speed of 5mph, thats pretty quick. BUT.... they haven't been able to outrun my stomps yet  I'm still more scared to have a run in with a Mojave Green than one of these ugly spiders.

That's two of whatever, correct ... counting legs. I think I would go AWOL if I found one of those things ... or ... I'd get in trouble for using a hand grenade ... but maybe it's acceptable to use relatively large armaments in the face of those disgusting creatures. I've got even more respect for our troops ... and I guess the indigenous.

Found this next to where we were eating after a shoot:

Yeah, I don't get people who are into bugs, and even reptiles. When our company did work at Palo Verde College in Blythe, about five years ago, almost every carpenter on the job had a scorpion on their cart in some sort of "cage". "Cage" of choice for most was an empty Gatorade bottle. On the roof of the buildings I think I stepped on a dozen of them. Had to make at least a dozen trips out their and I dreaded every one because of those things.

As a kid I never wore socks in the summer with shoes. One time I put on my runners and started playing basketball in the driveway. After about 4 or 5 major sharp and nearly debilitating pains in my right foot I kicked off my shoe to see what the problem was. Out crawled a fairly large scorpion from my shoe proud as can be.

I always turn my shoes upside down and clap them before putting them on to this day.
