Bill don't know if you've looked over the full website ( http://www.onlineworktrucks.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )for the last one you posted, they have this one in the price range of the above two, it's gas though, but lower mileage.
http://www.onlineworktrucks.com/vehicle ... r+van.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They also have a couple of (Dodge) Sprinter vans (built by MB), though there a bit more. I've never hear of any complaints on those trucks, and MB builds good engines.
I figured from the first post, you were looking for something with built in storage, er go the utility bed conversion on the van, then you post a regular van. If your not looking for the former, why not a p/u with a utility bed? There much more common. Is there a reason for the Van cab?

Mine is a 2005 Chev with captains chairs. It's been a great truck, no problems. Towed the S2000 to Lincoln, kept up with Tom's diesel. The Cmod is hardly noticed. It's very quiet and the ride quality is fantastic. A cargo van is not likely to come with cruise. I bought an aftermarket kit and added it. Don't know about pricing, but thumbs up on the truck.

The Fords are just SOOO much more common. It makes parts, mechanics and expertise WAY easier to find. My wife's old work fleet (City of Anahiem) was 50/50, but eventually turned into all Fords because the trouble shooting on the chevys took so much longer.Tom Tanquary wrote:it's a Chevy
Have you been to FamVan near off Euclid and the 405. Even if you're not buying, its a great place to explore the options and get ideas. I don't know of any place else that has 100's of vans lined up.

please do yourself a favor and stay away from the Sprinter vans. Motors are stupid expensive when they break.... and yes, they break plenty.Craig Naylor wrote:Bill don't know if you've looked over the full website ( http://www.onlineworktrucks.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )for the last one you posted, they have this one in the price range of the above two, it's gas though, but lower mileage.

Really disappointed to hear that about the Sprinters, but I'd trust Tom's industry observations here.
I think Billy needs a Cummins Ram with a big enough enclosed trailer that he can lay either lay the air mattress down or store everything so he can sleep in the backseat of the truck.
Its uncomfortable to see Talya sitting in the passenger seat of a pedovan.

Re: I'm looking at this van to replace mine...
Get a Cummins TD. Early ones (89-98) are bullet proof except for a bad dowel pin in the timing
Chain case. And the 2nd gen (98.5-2001) have issues with the lift pump, injector pump and with some of the blocks cracking.
But that's only with the infamous "53" blocks. Most of those should have cracked by now.
I say do a small camper to haul stuff and nap in.

I've only spoken to owners who were pleased, but I'm sure Tom has a much broader experience. I'm sorry to hear such... Though still a few years off, I was hoping to go down that road for a MotorHome chassis some day.Tom Berry wrote:please do yourself a favor and stay away from the Sprinter vans. I don't know, I have put over 600,000 miles on Ford vans over the last 10 years as part of the Enterprise Commuter program, and they have been mostly trouble free. All have had there idiosyncrasies. They seem to have gotten past the side door rattle with the 2012s, but they take abuse. New one is turning in 14.2mpg despite our tendency to cruise 80 in the mornings and 60 on the way home.
