Cars & Coffee Irvine

Got this from the folks that organize C&C Irvine:
An update…
The attached one-pager was sent to media and websites yesterday, and it
will be our flyer to distribute 12/20 and 27.
Sue Carpenter got it as right as any …

The search for a new location has not panned out. There is
interest/capacity to host small groups, but not 1,000 cars and 2,000
people. Undoubtedly there will be other opportunities popping up, and we
will explore each, but the realities of independently taking
responsibility in lieu of what Ford has made possible (Ford parking lot
and trash/maintenance, Ford insurance, Ford restrooms, Ford pays police)
becomes a sobering discovery.
The other reality is, the volunteers who have staffed this would not be
going to the next location, so it is truly a situation of "starting
over." In discussions with shopping centers, our message has been that
we bring a large body of new customers, and it would be the center's
responsibility to provide insurance and lot maintenance just like any
other day of the week. In essence, the format would return to what was
at Crystal Cove, only larger.
What does the future hold? Time will tell. For now, things will wind
down and people will find other things to do. I predict several informal
gatherings will develop here and there. Another reality … The key to
their longevity will be keeping it quiet and off the internet as much as
possible!
C&C traffic 12/20 and 27 will be crazy. We'll have three Irvine Police
officers instead of the usual one.
THANKS to each of you for contributing _indispensably_ to an
unprecedented eight years of Car Crazy success.
