I got some really good recommendations on an inside the house security system that I installed myself a few years ago (GE Simon). I am looking to install outside cameras & a recorder at my house. Are there any recommendations on the different brands sold at Home Depot, Lowes, Costco, etc? They all have installer deals with "Installernet" that run about $100 a camera (no existing outside wiring).

I know an "independent" would probably come up with higher quality (Sony) hardware, but price is a consideration. Probably only need 2/3 cameras.

I use SWANN at the store. They work for most things but I would want 960 or higher resolution for outside or areas that I actually want to pull information from. 480x is not enough. They also have deals on their site. The cameras have been reliable even getting knocked around a bit and with the grease, dust and other stuff at the restaurant.
