Willow Springs Balcony Autocross track

Post by Jeffear »

Has anyone used the Balcony Autocross track at Willow Springs Raceway and if so does it work OK for practice?
And would anyone else be interested in going up on a weekday for practice. $50 one time charge and $100 for the day.
Long sleeve shirt and pants required with Helmet. They will accept my MX5 with factory style bars.

There are better much options. This really falls into the 'AutoX poser' category.

Safety requirements at will springs seem to vary greatly by the org hosting the event. Usualy OE set up is okay for stockish cars, but ask them.

It is small, and you will have limited options for course design, but it could be useful for testing.

Jayson would you mind listing the better options.

I go out to Lone Pine occasionally. No one has ever said boo, although one time a farmer did ask me not to run into his cows with my Lola. Told him it was a deal.

Hi Jason, I assume that you are commenting on a signature line I used, "RAGE against the DNF and the tyranny of the cones, drive your own course"
This was an attempt at humor. Instead of referencing my embarrassment at getting lost on almost every run, I thought I would provide a philosophical
reason for my DNFs. However if I have to explain the joke it is probably not a good joke. I will not use it again. And please know that I am VERY responsible
and conscientious working the gate and in trying to learn the course.

I don't think he's making fun of you, he's just suggesting that the balcony is a bit small for a true Solo style practice setup. It's good enough for entry level autox car clinics, which I think the typical use is.
