Hi Guys,
I am thinking of doing my first Autocross event and wanted to make sure I get my car classes correctly. The car is a 1987 MR2 NA, with the following mods:
TRD lowering springs
Koni Yellows rebound adjustable shocks
Dunlop Direzza 205 sections tires (stock is 185 i believe)
Enkei's RPF1 15 in. diameter (stock is 14 in.)
Short Shifter
Aftermarket steering wheel
Polyurethane suspension bushings
Polyurethane engine mount bushing
Am I correct in classifying my car as a street touring sport (STS) and since I am a novice it would be NOV STS ?

I think BSP is pretty close... and I certainly wouldn't complain. I notated whats not ok for BSP. For local events I think CST is proabably the way to go unless you get hooked on the sport and try some r-comps. On national level events if your on street tires while not legal I can imagine anyone protesting you being in BSP. (CST is not available at those events)

Hey Julian,
You probably want to run our local-only CST class. It basically allows anything street-legal on "street" tires.
If you provide more detail on a couple of items, we can confirm which SCCA national class you would be in. But, I suspect the answer is SM (Street Modified).
Specifically send us links to websites for your Rear Chassis Brace, Transmission Dogmount and Subframe Inserts.
I may be missing something else, but those are the things that might bump you from Street Prepared to Street Modified.
Either way, I'd be running CST unless you decide to upgrade to DOT race rubber.

Totally new here and want to try AutoX. What would you classify a bone stock 2014 Lexus IS250 and will the class change if I install aftermarket exhaust such as the Apexi N1 Evolution (catback system).

Just signed up. I run a 2014 Fiesta ST. Mods are as follows:- bigger intercooler, lowering springs, but with no internal or external engine modifications. I take it that I would be in SP?

I looked at the SCCA classing rules but didn't find the C450. Does anyone know what class a bone stock Mercedes C450 falls under?

The c450 is a V6 turbo with 365HP. It'll have crazy advantage in HS.

Yes, OK for CSP. You could also run in our local catch all classes, depending on tires: Calif Street Mod (CSM) with any street legal tire, or Calif Street Touring (CST) with tread wear rating of 140 or higher.Pete Morris wrote:Just signed up. Hi everyone! First time Auto-xer here. Done some HPDE in the past, but I wanted to finally give auto-x a try. Hopefully someone can help me with my class! I am only doing the practice run, so I'm not worried about being in a competitive class.
I have a 2003 Mazda Protege5
Bridgestone RE-71R 200TW 215/45-17 (Stock is 195/45-16)
OEM Shocks and Springs from the MazdaSpeed Protégé (Lowers the car about an inch over stock IIRC)
OEM Rear Sway Bar from MazdaSpeed Protégé
K&N Cold Air Intake
Slotted Front Rotors
Short Shifter
Polyurethane front and rear motor mounts
I will also be stripping the interior for weight savings. Appreciate the help!
