Looking for volunteers

Post by Stephen Yeoh »

We would like to make change to how we currently set up our events. Currently, we look for event masters and safety stewards to volunteer by event. This means that we are unable to publicize our events nationally in advance because the sanctions haven't been ordered until we have these people in place for each event.

What we would like to do is have someone volunteer to be the event master of record for our events for the entire year. The same for safety steward.

This does NOT require you to be present for every event. This is simply to allow us to request the sanctions in advance. We will continue to ask for a volunteer to be event master and safety steward for each event.

Note that it does mean that in the event of an incident, SCCA will contact the person on file. Simply refer SCCA to the person on site for the event.

Ask if you have any questions.

Thanks. Stephen

I can be SSS of record for the year. I am also available to be SSS for our January event.

As a side note when filing for Event Sanctions, can we please always include "Cal Club" at the beginning or end of the titles? Most people don't see it, but I'm able to search for events on SCCA.com for SSS related stuff & it's sometimes difficult to find previous events because they are some random name.

I'd be happy to be the EM of record if you need to put a name down. And I'm typically happy to do the gig if we need someone.

I thought there were 3 people needed for sanctions, waivers? But great idea.

OK....official reply from Seb:

These are the positions required for sanction.
Event Chair
SSS-requires license
Youth steward-requires license
Gate chief

Perhaps I can rattle Kevin's cage and we'll have this covered!
