Re: Honoring John Edwards
OMG, he just did some work for me. I saw him in the shop just about a month ago. He was just fine. This is just awful. He was a hell of a guy. I am so saddened at this......
RIP, John.
RIP, John.

This is terrible news. He was such a great competitor and a great guy. Does anyone know what happened?

One of John's passions was cooking and making cooking videos. Here's an example. His famous guacamole was always a huge hit at welcome parties.
RIP John.

Re: Honoring John Edwards
This is very sad news. John will be remembered fondly by all who knew him and all who learned from his books. He was constructing a Abarth sports racer and looking forward to racing it in 2018.
On December 21st 2017 I was at his shop and had John's famous guacamole lunch with him. He looked great, I shook his hand after and wished him a happy Christmas. On December 25th John was at his sister's house when he passed on.
As of Today, the 5th of January, John's shop is still open but they are not taking new projects. After February John's sister will decide what will happen next.

Re: Honoring John Edwards
Incredibly sad news... John was a truly great person.
I received this info from John's sister Jennifer:
" I am having a celebration of his life on Sat. Feb 24th from 11am to 4pm. at his shop located at 123 Monte Vista, Costa Mesa "
Let's fill the street out front up with cool cars.

Am truly saddened to hear this. We will have to honor him at the next event.
Such good memories of him, his engine roar and his yummy food!

Re: Honoring John Edwards
Dangit! I'm angry about this... and sad too.
I always loved his little 500. When he first showed up with it, that thing had so much roll it looked like a clown car trying to drag the door handles in every turn. I was amazed it didn't go bottoms-up.
Then he started working on the suspension a little more and got the car to look like it was meant to be out there on our courses. Such a cool project, and he was Our Kinda People.
I wish I'd learned his guacamole recipe. It was epic!
I know I'm not alone in saying John will be missed. I'm glad for all our community that we had the chance to meet and enjoy him.

Re: Honoring John Edwards
I added it to my calendar. I think the info was somewhere on this site.
I can't guarantee this is correct, but I have it from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm at his shop, located at 123 Monte Vista in Costa Mesa.
Perhaps someone else can confirm that this is correct.
