Looking for co-driver for the rest of the year (and beyond?)
My co-driver, Chris Adams, can no longer co-drive with me. So I'm looking for a new one. It would be for the rest of the year and maybe beyond, and would be for racing locally as well as nationally. Anyone interested?
I'll be honest, it's expensive:
Split gas (both van and race car [91 oct. for local events, $12.60/gl. race gas for National events]).
Split storage costs (currently $326/mo. for both race car and rig - if you can provide storage of the rig, there would be no need for you to split the storage costs, and I'd pay for the race car storage [$150/mo.] myself.
Split cost of consumables in addition to above mentioned gas: oil, brake pads (win a Pro and that's taken care of!), clutch disks, spark plugs, etc.
Co-driver pays for repair/replacement of anything that they alone break, otherwise, if it's a result of both of us, or just me, I pay for it.
Co-driver pays for tires: should be 3-4 more new sets ($1000/set) for the remainder of the year (1 set for Wendover & Lincoln Pros, 1 set for Vail, CO Tour [going there is a "maybe"], 1 set set for the Finale, and 1 for Nationals).
The rest, upgrades, maintenance, would be my responsibility. Co-driver would also be expected to help with working on the car, 'though I've spent a lot of time & $$ these last few months to make the car more reliable; but don't get me wrong, I think we all know this car can be high maintenance at times!
Sorry for going into so much detail, but I want there to be no misunderstanding as to what you would be getting into and what your and my responsibilities would be.
The car is challenging to drive, but it can be hugely rewarding and fun, and not to mention FAST. It is also perfectly capable of winning CSP at ANY level (and TToD, for that matter) - you just have to drive it well! As I hope my previous co-drivers can attest, I always work hard to make my co-driver's experiences in the car as fun and rewarding as possible.
Let me know.
Thanks,
Bill

Any co-drive size restrictions?
Re: Looking for co-driver for the rest of the year (and beyond?)
Yeah, no Rahns, Christophers (male) or Goldsmiths need apply.Mako Koiwai wrote:Any co-drive size restrictions?

Let's see, I pay $200 per set for 2, maybe 3 sets a year. I'll pass.Bill Schenker wrote:I'll be honest, it's expensive:

I don't think so; he's built up his SSM Miata and will drive this, I think.

I bet you a lap dance and a steak you cannot out-PAX her in your STU Evo and her in Simanyi's Bimmer. If you cannot take this bet then you should consider running Ladies class.

Hmm... This seems like a ploy to get me to work on the Evo for you Not to mention you've basically offered up Mike's car w/o asking. Kinda like how you did the same with my car...Ken Motonishi wrote:I bet you a lap dance and a steak you cannot out-PAX her in your STU Evo and her in Simanyi's Bimmer. Jason would be at the mercy of whether or not Katy proved to be a "dirty girl".

Mike is all for it as you can see. And your Evo wasn't doing anything but sitting on your driveway collecting cobwebs in the entire underside (literally). Your mission is incomplete in STU without me. Like Jerry Maguire would say, "you complete me".Jason Uyeda wrote:Hmm... Sounds like something Max would say. Very English for sure.

My mission in STU was to be lazy and drive to events. I accomplished that. The stakes of your bet are well below anything I would normally consider... Especially if you talking about out of state "talent" that can be had for the price of a Big Mac... What's in it for Katy? Are you her manager now? Why doesn't she challenge me?
And Kendra, you know you want to run ladies...
