You know that Steve O'Blenes had some custom stuff made for that purpose by John Coffey of Beta Motorsports? He saved the jigs so another set could be fabricated. Requires dry-sumping the motor.Jamie Lessie wrote:Mako you are on it! Thanks!

Yup I have been trying to convince him to sell me that car. He won't cave. Steve O'blenes and Monster Miata are partners in this project. This one will not be dry sump and will be CA legal (that is the fun part)

You WANT the roll bar ... but I suppose you can just weld up your own ... seems like lot of trouble. Installing our Hardog wasn't fun ...

It's not that hard. Much easier if you take the seats and the top out.

I am 99% sure installing a premade one is easier than making another custom one. It was a good experience, one in which I learned a lot. One of the things I learned is that it takes some time, and that paying a couple hundred for one already made is a good way to go
More hijacking of Chris's for sale thread. LOL Welding up that rollbar. This would be the best picture of me ever if it was not blurry.
Call me Chris!

I want the car too, but have place to put it now. We have 4 cars now, just dropped $2750 for tuition, and still need to buy books. Plus I don't have any time to Auto X with the end of cycling season coming up. I might see all of you in October at AutoClub. I will be spending September 25th and 26th in Bishop cycling up the equivalent of Mt. Everest. Two days, 206 miles, and 29,035 of climbing. Are there any cyclist that want to join me? It will be "fun", I promise. }:)

Thoughts of mine after this weekend...
This car WILL trophy even with the roll bar, but I was thinking the roll bar may not slow it down that much, if at all. It provides a lot of extra grip.

Re: FS: SK2 92' Miata
When we put in the roll bar, we took out the rear sway bar, the Miata was so much stiffer ... does that make sense?

How come when I think of a white miata for sale, I suddenly now can only think how cool a photo would be of a hot blonde in a bikini holding a MIG welding head? }:)

When I tig in daisy dukes (which makes boss happy and unhappy at the same time) my welding jacket is longer than my shorts
I picked up a Miata tonight. :gpower: I wanted to wish Chris luck in selling it. It is a nice car and I hope it goes to a good home.
I still want that roll bar though if you're willing to part it, Chris. Also willing to trade out our daisy wheels. I'd love the ones with your tires on it. My tires are good all season-ish things, just not autocross tires

Congrats Jamie!
I have to check with a long-time friend of mine to see if he wants his roll bar back and the exhaust too. I'm going to need the tires for the sale unfortuately.

I don't know that I would need an exhaust. It is getting a 13b pretty soon. Interested in the rollbar though. Let me know Chris and good luck!
