And leave it to Gio to let the mushrooms know who they are. Atleast he doesn't know about the sausage factory.

Wouldn’t it be better to ban people (who are known to destroy threads with off topic posts) from posting in the content driven forums instead of punishing everyone?Bob Beamesderfer wrote:Why not let the moderators do their job.Giovanni Jaramillo wrote:

One post off topic and you get a DNF for that thread. Four off topic posts and you are DSQ for a week.

OK, Doug, what's with the sudden sanctimonious attitude? Thread purity was never a strong point on the old board; now that we have the new, you're somehow a saint of purity?Doug Teulie wrote:Wouldn’t it be better to ban people (who are known to destroy threads with off topic posts) from posting in the content driven forums instead of punishing everyone?Bob Beamesderfer wrote:Why not let the moderators do their job.Giovanni Jaramillo wrote:

A lot of the exchange on this thread has to do with significant issues with the event. Now there''s an e-board discussion closed to most of the membership. And of course, concerns are labeled as "whining" and questions are considered "attacks."

1) First some good words. I appreciate that Steve E started a new topic to ask a different question about NOLD. I appreciate that Steve points out issues of concern and helps keep us informed. Thanks! You have been great!Bob Beamesderfer wrote: Bob Beamesderfer wrote:""Always best to keep the membership in the dark.""

2) Now I will answer your question Bob. We have an off topic section dedicated to whatever you want to post (like shoes and candy preference). Many people including my co-driver get very frustrated when looking for “on topic” content on this forum. Some even quit looking. People want to use the EVENTS section to get information about event details, potential changes. and ask real questions. Sifting through 40 posts about candy and shoes is entertaining for some. Most of us don’t have all day to sift through the preferences of one candy over another when attempting to find out something important in the events section about the upcoming event.

Re: NOTLD - A REALLY IMPORTANT change to the flyer
I have a suggestion: Start the event alittle earlier since many people seem to want to run first and not run really late. I want to drive the event but am not enthusiastic about running/working at 3am and then changing my tires.
Just a suggestion.

Re: NOTLD - A REALLY IMPORTANT change to the flyer
We often don't get the first run in before darkness falls.
We should run the first group a little early to be safe and then take a short break before the 2nd group if necessary.

My intent was really to say...hey there has been another official thread created on the committee forum for members only. You're in that group so not trying to hide stuff. I said wrong in that I wasn't trying to "sweep things under the rug" is all.Steve Ekstrand wrote:Giovanni Jaramillo wrote:

I believe 2yrs ago, there was a problem with setup and 1st group ran while dark, so hopefully it will start an hour earlier to have some leeway.Steve Ekstrand wrote:We often don't get the first run in before darkness falls.

More OT BS.....
You quoted Bob. Then called me out.
Then next post you actually quoted me and got really exasperated.
Your argument was with Bob.
I was just pointing out that the only thing worse than keeping the membership in the dark is telling the membership that they are mushrooms. Now that the mushrooms think there is a really exciting discussion going on that they aren't cool enough to get invited too....
And people tell me to shutup.... Gesh...

This event is starting 1/2 hour earlier than the last 2 years just so we don't run the first group in the dark.Start the event alittle earlier since many people seem to want to run first and not run really late.

Re: NOTLD - A REALLY IMPORTANT change to the flyer
The problem in prior years hasn't always been the schedule. Often its the unintended start time.
But for a Craig Angel memorial we ought to go hot on schedule even if we have use the stop watches!!!
