October 22 Practice Registration Open

Post by Rick Brown »

CLICK HERE for all the details.

Note that the site says registration is suspended, that's just because there is no online registration, it's mail in only.

Entries will be posted a week before the event or when the entry limit of 75 is reached.

Halloween costumes optional, but encouraged.

Thanks Rick!

Along with sending a check for your entry, please note your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice of run group. Your run group, like your entry, will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. If you do not list a choice of run group, one will be assigned to you.

Just wanted to emphasize this since it's not something we usually do.

It's all in the link. There is an additional link on the MSR flyer with those details.

The run order should be changed to the following:

Order Run Work Rest
1 Red Green Blue
2 Blue Red Green
3 Green Blue Red
L
1 Red Green Blue
2 Blue Red Green
3 Green Blue Red

This means no one is running right after working which also means people aren't having to wait till the very end of their work group before having to get their cars to grid.

Also, don't count on the specific work time schedule to work out with only three groups. You need at least four groups for that to really be effective.

Is there still enough time/space to mail in an entry? How many people are on the list so far? Looks like the nice weather is supposed to hold out for the weekend.

Your proposed version creates the opposite problem - people working right after running. Now the next group will be waiting til the last person just finished running and reporting to work before beginning.

Either way can work; there's no guaranteed advantage with either arrangement.

The times are listed there for reference - whether we run ahead, on, or behind schedule, some times listed give you a general idea. Everyone will get their allotted runs.

Can't we come up with a run group format where I get MORE than my allotted runs?

Cal Poly Formula SAE will be around for lunch serving hotdogs and hamburgers (I believe they also have a vegetarian option) looking for donations to help them run their program. :D
