Recommendation for Head Shaving and ...
... cam shaft install, for our SCCA STL Miata.
I'm thinking Shawn Church will only do the tune but not these other items?

The more hair I lose, the more I consider it. If I did, I was thinking I'd do it myself.
Max might have some suggestions.
I concur with Marshall.

http://www.headblade.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; was pretty popular when I shaved my noggin. However, I just used shaving oil and a Mach 3.

Norelco electric body shaver - use directly on your head, and any other parts that need a trim!

While you are at it don't for get to port the intake/exhaust and work the valves (as allowed).

Re: Recommendation for Head Shaving and ...
thanks ...
Found a plastic shop that is cutting the rear window polycarbonate to a pattern that I carefully made ... for the new light weight, 10 lb hardtop. If that works out OK, might do the front window also ... since we need to have it replaced anyway. Big crack. Going to study other Miata's this weekend to see how they do their front wind screens

I wouldn't do the windshield in lexan, by the time it's all installed in the correct thickness and with the required straps it's a minimal weight saving. It will also scratch easy, it makes sense for the thinner material in the rear.

Agree. It will also end up costing more by the time you are done.Toby Larsson wrote:I wouldn't do the windshield in lexan, by the time it's all installed in the correct thickness and with the required straps it's a minimal weight saving. Re: Recommendation for Head Shaving and ...
I was thinking that also ... I guess Toby should know ... having done it.
I was wondering about temporarily disabling the wind shield wiper, since on the Miata one can easily accidentally engage them.
Interesting, NASA wants 3/16th for all Lexan, all around as opposed to our 1/4, 1/16 and 1/8th

That is a bummer - not that the rules typically line up anyway.Mako Koiwai wrote:

They're going for convenience, we're going for an extra light over all performance window package
SCCA: 1/4 + 1/16 + 1/16 + 1/8th = 8/16th = 1/2"
NASA: 4X 3/16th = 12/16th = 3/4" worth of Lexan

Where are you pulling the 1/16" SCCA spec from? Its 1/4" front, 1/8" all others - for Club Racing.Mako Koiwai wrote:They're going for convenience, we're going for an extra light over all performance window package

Re: Recommendation for Head Shaving and ...
If you're prepping for STL just move the wiper function to a flip switch on the dash board. No need to keep any of the factory switches, gauges or any other part of the electrical system.
