Exotic Car Instructors Needed

Post by Mako Koiwai »

Hello,

I’m writing to offer a unique opportunity to spend a weekend with a half-dozen exotic cars, mainly Ferraris and Lamborghinis.

I am also looking for non-instructors for the weekend to help with the check-in area. Have a friend, spouse or sibling, they must be 18. Non-Instructors will receive $100 per day.

My name is Perry Aidelbaum, owner of AutoX4u.com, head of the Northern New Jersey SCCA Solo program (host of the NJ Pro in 2011, 2013 and 2013 and Northeast Divisionals in 2012). I’m working with Imagine Lifestyles (http://www.imaginelifestyles.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) to put on the best supercar experience possible, utilizing a fast, flowing autocross-style course which I design.

We’re going to be in your area at (Santa Anita Park) on (September 14 - 15), and we’re in need of qualified instructors to help run the event.

As an instructor, you will be expected to do a very basic autocross instruction – following three main rules:

1. Safety First – make sure the customer doesn't hurt themselves, other customers, or the cars.

2. Have Fun – ensure that the customer is comfortable and enjoys their time with Imagine Lifestyles and with the cars, and feels that they got a good value for their dollar.

3. Teach a Little – basic safety/hand and seat position, basics of getting around the course by looking ahead, positive reinforcement, and maybe some car dynamics talk. Most importantly they cannot go wide open throttle until the wheel is straight.

Some of the non-instruction duties include helping customers in and out of the cars, talking to them before they get into the cars, and keeping the course moving (grid, pit in, cones) – though working the course is far less strenuous than a local event, as we use bikes to get around quicker or my rental car.

Here’s a video of a typical in-car experience, and what you can expect from our courses and what we hope you can do while instructing:http://youtu.be/aYhyMGIxE7oYou don’t have to be as detailed as this instructor, but customers love seeing hand signals.

Imagine Lifestyles is a very professional organization designed around giving the customer the ultimate in their high-end experience. Safety is of the utmost importance, and you will not encounter any of the hijinks that have gotten other exotic car companies in the news.

Instructors are paid $150 per day, with lunch, drinks and company shirt and hat supplied by Imagine Lifestyles. Additionally, there is an opportunity to drive the cars as customers can pay for Pro-Drives. The guys at Imagine Lifestyles understand that the primary reason you may be interested in coming out for the event is the opportunity to drive, so they have made some changes to encourage more passenger rides. We will work to get as many as possible within the confines of the event.

The current fleet of cars is:

Lamborghini LP560-4 Convertible
Lamborghini LP560-4 Coupe
Lamborghini LP550-2 Bicolore Coupe 2ea
Ferrari 430 Coupe
Ferrari 430 Convertible
Ferrari 430 Convertible

If you are not local, you will have to provide your own accommodations.

If you are interested, please email me directly at autox4u@gmail.com, with the subject “(LA)"Instructors, and let me know your availability, qualifications/Instructor experience.

We’ve hosted events in Boston, San Francisco, LA, Seattle, Chicago, and Washington D.C. already with a lot of success and everyone had a lot of fun. Come on out for the chance to spend some quality time with the types of cars you had on your wall as a kid.

Read over our instructor guide -http://www.autox4u.com/file/Driving%20I ... 0Guide.pdf

Any questions just ask..

Thanks
Perry

Thanks, I did. Bad part I used my work e-mail and it stripped the attachment he sent back. Hopefully he will send to my personal e-mail address I followed up with.

Ouch ... I think they do a poor job of marketing these things. You would think they would post in car enthusiasts message boards, etc ... but I don't see anything. Apparently their big thing is to use Groupon ... and folks buy an entry as a present. Last time one of our AX'ers bought two entries

have to say really appreciate the way we were treated. Also well I was primed to have to deal with people the were disappointed from the prior weeks issues, that never materialized. I had a few "well last week was his birthday" or "we were here last week and" But none were bitter or angry, the 4 laps was stroke of genius. It's a great product, every person I drove with or had as a rider said they were happy, it met or beat their expectation. I haven't seen any social media activity from it, but I imagine mostly good based on what I saw.

My only request would be a couple of extra chairs where lunch is being served.

On the side, did anyone else get a radio call when they were driving "you know the one where someone was saying hey looking good, pick up the speed a little" :-) and not realize it was for you? Makes you wonder how hard it is for the guys in a race to concentrate on what they are doing and chatter on the radio. They have the advantage of knowing they are on a reserved frequency and it's aimed at them, but still would think a conversation with Q&A takes talent, especially over the noise.

Perhaps not, but I am not sure the brakes on the Lambos could take consecutive turns of him at the wheel with out thier surrendering and begging for mercy }:)

It was odd ... the Ferrari's had no brake issues, but the Lambos did, including the one that had had it's brakes serviced with racing fluid. Ryan thought the Ferrari's had better cooling but it's hard to believe that the Lambo brakes weren't holding up to our short stints on a not very warm day. Apparently this issue has just cropped up over their last few events.

Could be the fluid, or pads chosen. My guess is that the Lambo's are just seeing a lot more runs. There weren't very many times the Ferrari's were running back to back runs. At the same time, the Ferrari's didn't have the power and acceleration of the Lambo's. I think the racing heritage of the Ferrari showed up.

You can download these ... click on the thumbnail, then to the upper right of the opened file is a down arrow to open up the full size file.

Time Lapse that Karen and Anthony did on Sunday when I wasn't there ... too bad it wasn't as busy as usual:
