Pre-Registration for November 30th

Post by Rick Brown »

I UNDERSTAND THOSE THAT DON'T LIKE TO READ INSTRUCTIONS BUT........
PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS POST BEFORE GOING TO THE NEW SITE.

We are opening up a new system for online registration which includes optional online payment. This system is tied in with the AXWare timing software we use.
When the database was imported from the Solo2.com site, it automatically created an ID and password for everyone with a points card number or a points card number on hold. It is based on your name as it was on the Solo2.com site. It works like this:

USER ID: Your First Initial plus your last name, case sensitive. Example: RBrown
PASSWORD: Your Last name, case sensitive. Example: Brown
Once you login using these settings, you can change both your ID and password to whatever you want.
If you have trouble logging in, and had a points card on Solo2.com, let me know before you go and create a new account.

When you first go to the site, you should see the calendar and all clubs in the system listed. Click on the Select Club drop down and select CSCC SOLO to narrow it down to just us. It should then go there in future logins.

Go to My Garage to setup the cars and numbers you use. You can have an entry for the same car with different classes, including X-runs.

Non-Points Card Holders may also pre-register and pre-pay but you may only select car numbers from the 600 series (you will get an error if you try to pick a reserved number (points cards) or an already picked 600 number. DO NOT PICK OTHER THAN 600 SERIES EVEN THOUGH OTHER NON USED NUMBERS APPEAR IN THE RESERVED NUMBER LIST.

Currently pre-payment is through PayPal and is limited to only the $30 fee. So if you pay something different or register for X-Runs you have to pay at the event. You can register up to 3 times, Class runs and 2 sets of X-Runs. For a second set of X-Runs, add an "a" to your car number. So I would be 240 F125, 240 XF125 and 240a Xf125.

So go here and have at it: https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Go here for the new user info: https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/axwareo ... =orm_hints" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but you should be able to skip Step 1 since you should already be in the database.

Yeah, even though it's programmed into the site, it's not visable to the general user, just used to import into the timing software. The programmer is working on it. For now you can look at the flyer on the solo2.com site.

Hmmmm, Things not working quite the way I thought. If I set Unique Numbers on, it let's you create multiple cars in your garage with the same number but in different classes, but not register both. If I turn it off then you can register both, but someone else can also use the same number in a different class. Which is of course the way SCCA does it on a National level. Unique Numbers is off now, so it should work. But we loose the uniqueness of our numbers, it's now Number plus Class to be unique. We should be OK for this time, but I'll have to talk to the programmer to see what can be done to work with our wierd system.

Sorry about that, but there is a lot more complexity to the new site and just trying to cut down on the problems I have to deal with and a little, uh, emphasis, seemed justified  .

What does this mean:
Time only runs *are* available for your Primary runs. Work is required.
Why emphasis *are* ?

Why not say something about X-Runs being available, and Working a 2nd time is *not* required.

Hey, I just copied the info from the other flyer.

There is now a class called TO for Time Only to distinguish from X-Runs. TO requiring work, X not.

Yes, we were getting people taking X-runs as their first runs. But we needed to distinguish since pricing was different and the work/no work thing.

Mako, I wrote it that way to encourage people to pause and ask exactly what you asked. Unfortunately you came to the conclusion I didn't intend: that this was just a confusing way of defining a single option on X runs. The verbiage surrounding and including your quote describes two different options.

As Rick explained, we're letting people buy both Time Only and X runs. The core distinction boils down to working. TO are available as *first* runs - for which work is required - while X runs are available as a second set of runs, for which additional work is *not* required.

Taking it a little further, everybody has to buy Primary runs, paired with a Work requirement. They can choose to run those Time Only or in any of our classes. Participants may also buy Secondary runs - X runs - for which they are not required to work.

Hopefully your question and the answers make more people aware of these options. I think it's a great benefit our region offers, particularly for those who can't attend our practices and want more than 3 runs to improve their driving.

I have Solo$ from working the FSAE West event. Since I can't register online *and* use my solo bucks, am I going to be charged and extra $5 for having to register at the event?
