Oh it definitely is. At one point Paris Hilton officially endorsed a canned prosecco. I must have it!

You know how I know you're gay?...
Because I drive a Tahitian Green Honda?

Because I like watching lesbians go at it?

Because I didn't check the sex of the cat?

Because I took Bill Schenker's underwear out of the dryer?

I suddenly have an urge to see Sex and the City....
I was gonna say "'cause you like sex with men", but all of those other things scream "flamer" too...

Embracing the 909, one cultural atrocity at a time!
Oh, and speaking of cultural atrocities in general, for the low water mark in community theater, there's nothing quite as godawful as the "Ramona Pageant," which tells the tale of an Indian Princess whose lover is murdered by gringos. The one, only, last time I was dragged to this event the timing was a bit off.

Ramona: "Oh my God! You're shot!
[sound effect] BANG!
Lover falls to ground.
[sound effect] BANG!

By the end of it I was wishing I'd been shot or had a shot or three.

So last night I met the valedictorian of Redlands East Valley HS for 2015. Her name is Shelby Fuentes. It was the 5th grade promotion / awards ceremony for Mentone Elementary School at the above HS. She shows up with 10 members of her family in a Hummer limo. She has on an expensive dress and heels and a frickin' tiara. She's also wearing her "Medals of Honor", given to honor roll students for all three trimesters, from grades 1-4. During the ceremony, she is picked to read her "Memories of Mentone" essay that all the kids wrote, which is a real kiss ass piece. She gets every award offered. Then, they go to give out the Principal's Awards which are given to the most rounded boy and girl student.

"...and the winner is, Shel..."

Shelby's ass raises from the chair, her family rises to take the picture...

"...ly Luther."

Hey, that's my frickin' kid! I wanted to run over and stand on a chair in front of her family and give the D-X "Suck it", but I refrained and just clapped. Shelby began to cry and did so for the rest of the evening. Sad, really, but it's seems to be so typical these days.

The cool part is we went home, put the Principal's Award and the Medal of Honor she got with her medals from grades 1-4. Then we had ice cream and watched RV racin' on Top Gear :D

It would be nice to think there was a similar celebration at Shelby's house, but I doubt it, and that is, again, very sad. She probably had to start work right away so she, and her family, wouldn't be "embarassed" like that again.
