So is there anything else we need to know about this event? Should we bring the copy of our registration conformation? Is there Tech? On and on... I've never done a practice event, so I want to be able to take full advantage and not miss out or muck anything up.

Thanks!

Tech will be there, and obviously placed. Show up, check in show some id if applicable (SCCA membership), sign up for a work group and race.

You run anytime you're not working.

Can people take a chance and just show up Sunday morning and try to get in?

... some people are going to San Diego for their Championship event on Sunday.

Ask Mike about the plowing Neon.... That can be overcome with really bad setup choices...

The e-brake will slow the front wheels on WRX - no e-brake slides :( . It might work on an STI?

For the new folks: We run Rain or Shine!

It never hurts to check here :computer: before you make the drive, but it is very unusual to cancel an event  due to weather.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and new to California and looking to test out my car out here. I'm curious if it's too late to sign up for Sunday? And if it's not how do I go about it? Thanks for the last minute help!

I am registered and paid up for the Sunday practice. Unfortunately, I have to cancel. Should I expect the $ to be held onto and used toward a future event?

You're in luck. At the event, it was noted that there are 2-3 spots open for tomorrow, so walk up registration is available. Just show up early (aka before 7am).

I think a few people might not show up tomorrow ... so there should be a few extra sports left ... what was REALLY cool was that at lunch we got to do FOUR laps on the BIG Roval ... being led by a pace car ... but we still got up to 80 mph+ ... surprisingly fun on the tighter corners plus so cool to get to go down the big banked straight/corner. We will be doing this again on Sunday.

We tried something different on our AX course today ... we added a loop so that one did the first part of the course twice ... so that lap times were more like 60 seconds. So we got less laps, but longer ones.

We're going to smooth out the finish tomorrow ... so our cars aren't in a potentially upset attitude going across the finish.

We were told no restrictions or helmets required, but there was plenty of adult supervision:

I think partially because it was cold & sprinkly. I didn't wear a helmet, but I sure wished I did once I realized how fast the parade laps were going. That banked turn was REALLY banked.
