Same in Sierra Madre/Pasadena. It was surreal going from the maelstrom in Fontucky last night to getting out of my car at home and it's dead calm.

Maybe you can go to the management of the hotel itself, tell them that your event got cancelled due to weather, and ask them to give you credit for another day. We got overcharged at a Subway and the manager just wrote our name with a credit amount and posted it on the cork board in their office area. Easier than going to corporate, getting a check, etc.

EDIT: Don't forget to tell them that it's a 400+ member club that races locally frequently and you'd love to recommend their hotel. ;)

Blowing hard here in Beaumont, 5 miles down the road in Calimesa, nothing...

The wind corridor that basically comes down the 15, and right through the Speedway, is always the worst in the Santa Anas. The second worst blows down over Big Bear and through my backyard...

If this was a Tour or Pro, we would be doing stuff today and tomorrow to make the events go. It would be miserable. This is a local event with the emphasis on fun first and foremost. Why suffer?...
