Wind at 35 MPH is difficult to deal with. At 50 mph you can't stand in the sme place for very long. At 70 it is dangerous!

i may have a hard time shooting pictures this time around. if all goes right, i'm going to be trading in my mid-range zoom lenses, for a HUGE lens.

I already have the 100-400, it's getting traded in along with the 70-200 in order to get the 600mm. also, the 100-400 + TC won't auto-focus with a non-EOS1 camera.

i find that the 100-400 is great, but just not long enough, and that i really haven't been using the 70-200, so it works out for me all around.

I'll probably keep my eye out for a 70-200 f/4 if a good one comes along, to get that mid-range covered again.

We run in the elements, and it takes extraordinary, dangerous, or impassable conditions for us to cancel. Simple unpleasantness or inconvenience isn't a good reason. And that slightly soggy PFM cancellation was 100% wrong and a mistake that we are still paying for.

Sunday is shaping up by forecasts to be MUCH MUCH better than Saturday. Saturday is going to be a challenge.
