San Diego Tour tire changing

Post by Steve Ekstrand »

Any chance the a tire truck will be at SDtour? Or does anybody know of a nearby tire shop? Need to change tires on Friday and the day is looking pretty ugly and crammed, so need to do it fast!!!

Toyo is negotiating a deal to buy Bill Schenker's creepy predator van and install the Clements tire changing equipment.

If that falls through, let me know. I've got one that makes Bill's look like a school bus. }:)

can't afford to have a contingency program...

...so they waste gas bringing the truck out to tours

Careful now
You can never have to many tire manufacturer's in solo or to many tire trucks at an event.
There was a time in the distant past (like last year) when Kuhmo was providing the support.
Also Kuhmo will be the truck at the Pro next week - not your Bridgestone buddies.

I'm glad we have ANY manufacturer support...we had to swap four tires, quickly, Sunday morning and having the Bridgestone guys right next to my paddock spot was tremendous. :)

I think the idea is to keep the guys working. I don't think Kumho Motorsports wants to lay off people just because corporate thinks they should save a few bucks buy cutting contingency. Also, that truck was already out here for another series, so having it hang out for a few weeks is not a big deal.
