FS: 1996 STS Miata - great condition
1996 Miata - Red
179,900 miles (mostly freeway)
Base model (A/C, P/S, manual windows, no ABS)
Full service history for the last 90,000 miles.
Professionally maintained - oil changed every 3,000
Car located in Trabuco Canyon, South Orange County (i.e. not in the ghetto!)
Garage stored
This car makes an excellent AX car or daily driver. Despite the high spring rates, it rides amazing smoothly and gets 30mpg if you don't flog it. I'm selling it to make room for my new race car.
I bought this car off a little old grandmother just over three years ago, and it has provided me 50,000 trouble free miles. I have spared no expense in bringing it into top-top shape.
Fresh mechanicals:-
Brand new timing belt and water pump installed 3,000 miles ago.
Any leaky gaskets replaced
New clutch master and slave cyclinders
New ignition wires
New clutch
Mazdaspeed motor mounts
Replaced both 02 sensors
New catalytic conveter (just passed smog yesterday)
Previous owner replaced plastic rear window
Compression check showed 165 across all cylinders
Fresh A/C charge
New PCV valve
New windshield
Brakes recently flushed with fresh fluid
Car has aftermarket kill switch to prevent nasty people stealing it.
The car runs perfectly with no known problems, leaks no oil and uses no more oil than you would expect a new car to. I just check it between services. Paint is in excellent condition, with just a few small dings that would expect on an older car.
Fun stuff:-
Koni Race shocks with GC coilovers, 750lb springs on the front
Koni Sport shocks with GC coilovers, 350lb springs in the rear
Fatcat Motorsports rear shock mounts for extra travel
Enkei RFP-1 15x7 wheels with Bridgestone RE01R tires with plenty of tread left
Kosie T1-S 15x7 wheels with some fairly dead Falken Azeni 615's
Racing Beat Intake (CARB legal)
Racing Beat header (CARB Legal)
Racing Beat midpipe + muffler
Sparco wheel + stock wheel and airbag
Hard top - paint on hardtop is not as good as the rest of the car, but is ok.
Sony Xplod stereo with AUX in/CD/MP3 with upgraded door speakers and headrest speakers
Mazdaspeed shortshifter with fresh inner boots
Voodoo shift knob
R Package front spoiler
New lightweight Odyssey battery
Slotted rotors + Hawk HP+ and HPS pads
Price for all that, $5000.
I will negotiate a reduced price if you do not want the hardtop or 2nd set of wheels.

Sorry to see you have to let it go Max.
That is a great price for a well prepped STS car. Good luck with the sale.

Wish I had the money and didn't need a backseat in my daily driver. This car will sell fast.

I'll buy this car right now if you are willing to hold the pink slip on my Corvette while I make payments to you. I am currently putting a thousand work miles a week on my Corvette and the gas savings alone would most likely pay you off very quickly. I'm desparate.

Guess I should make my car STS legal; maybe then it will sell.

I don't know what the configuration is on Bob's car, but it probably can be converted to STS without too many changes if that's your goal. CSP will be a *lot* more fun though!
