Keith are you going to stay in the mondo trailer this year at Wendover? I don't know what the policy is at the airport.

That is the plan. They have allowed camping on site in the past. I may need to bring more fuel jugs to keep the generator/AC running...

I've stayed both places: Stateline (although now with a different name) in Nevada, and a BW in Utah. Stateline was nice, but it was a long way to schlep all of our stuff up to our 10th floor room. We parked right outside of the room at the BW.

Normal room rates are likely cheaper at the motels in UT, but you might find some good prices at the hotels in NV.

The hotels have restaurants inside, and often include warm breakfasts, but also smell like cigarette smoke. Who knew that gamblers might have the addictive personality that is also attracted to cigarettes? :)

I stayed at the Peppermill I think. It was pretty expensive, but it was very nice.

I have a 34 gallon generator tank. I hope that is enough.

I guess find an RV resort near Portland to drop off the trailer. Even paying $35 a night for 4 nights I'd come out way ahead on diesel and time and stress.

Doh....
You do know that Wendover and the Packwood NT are actually 2 weeks apart, so you're looking at 12-13 nights. I'm guessing RV storage will be cheaper than an RV park.

NWR is going to ask about storage at Packwood, so stay tuned for more on that, too...

Whoops, Stacey wrote the dates wrong in her calendar. I left my calendar last week in Newport Beach, and I haven't arranged to pick it up yet. So, I worked off Stacey's calendar all week planning... You'd think I could trust an attorney and her calendaring.

Yeah.... 11 days at $35 is no longer a winner. Hmmmm... I do have a friend with a farm up there???

What about a place in vegas on the way up? Do you usually just hope to find a cheap motel room or actually book something ahead of time?

The last time we went up there, we stayed at Buffalo Bills in Primm, but then again, we had a free room for joining their player's club the last time we were there (to ride the roller coaster). I think that they are currently about $23/night, except on Saturday. You still have to drive through LV in the morning, but if you leave at 8:30am or so, you should make it to Wendover by 3:00pm towing and miss most of the LV traffic. Or leave at 6:30am and get there by 1:00am.

$29 at Buffalo Bill's...Sweet! Thanks for the tip. :D
I just wish I could score a room like that in Wendover.

Actually, Whiskey Pete's is only $22.95.
