2006 SS Lotus Elise - Trackpack LSD

Post by John Kestler »

CSCC SS regional championship in 2007

2006 Lotus Elise. British Racing Green. TrackPack, Limited Slip Differential, Traction Control. Touring Pack Delete. 2006 Lotus Elise. British Racing Green. TrackPack, Limited Slip Differential, Traction Control. Touring Pack Delete. Had top and soft top. 2006 had several unique upgrades from 2005. The Trackpack comes with Bilstein adjustable shocks (allows lowering and damper stiffness adjust), factory Eibach springs, adjustable front rollbar with Delrin bushings, and factory harness bar. This was also the first year you could order a Limited Slip Differential from the factory. This option comes with Traction Control that can be disabled if desired. It also is the first year to include LED side and rear lighting and to have daytime running lights. The 2006 ECU changed and the throttle is “drive by wire” instead of a cable. With the Touring Pack omitted, the car is lighter and it has the unique option of crank windows. Additionally British Racing Green (the classic Lotus racing color) was offered starting in 2006. This is truly a unique automobile with possibly 4 built to this exact group of options.
Garage kept and well maintained with only 15k miles of weekend highway driving.
$29,500. Please call for more details

Nice shot, with Photoshopping by Henry ... of John's Elise before we got the big front sway bar from Robert P's http://www.blackwatchracing.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Oem Elise handling is tricky ... snap oversteer when you're really trying to lean on it. John really got this Elise's handling dialed in. It's very easy to go from the street setting to AX setting.

This is a wonderful ride ... you'll love it's precision and high limits. Throw on some R's for a great SS car

Hey! I never told you what I was going to do with it. I am really sortof looking for one with a salvage due to theft/minor fire/flood. If I had my way it would be a renesis with one of Pettits blower systems; http://www.pettitracing.com/rx8/index_turbo.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Although it does cost an arm and a leg. If I did get one it would likely be a 13b with a single turbo (like what Steve O'Blenes has)

I told Nathan when I get the return back on my investments I would save it a down payment on a house. I told him I wouldn't get the Elise or Exige. This car shouldn't even be on my mind but I can't help it. It is so nice! I love the green and yellow John! If I ever get one I will definitely go to you for suspension advise!

Both my mechanics are dynamite.

Cam Worth of Pettit Racing FL is THE rotary specialist. He won the GT2 road racing championship in 98 in an Rx-7 with bolt-ons. Almost every rotary Mazda I have ever seen has at least one of his parts. He comes to California once a year for a car show and my car gets its yearly "checkup" haha. Every time something serious is done on my car he walks my other mechanic through it over the phone. One of my favorite creations of his is the “MX-5 type-R”

http://pettitracing.fatcow.com/car_sale/mx5gallery.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Chris Kienitz is local to Escondido. He builds cars for SEMA and enjoys sticking engines in cars that don't belong there. His daily driver is a V8 monster Miata (The MX-5.0  ) and he built a LS1 Rx-7 (soon to be LS7- the Rx-7.0) for his wife, Sharon.

Please don't tempt me with your car anymore John

Jamie ... you're still alive!? ... after getting to use the Monster Miata loaner car. Did you have to buy Chris a new set of rear tires?

If Apple hits $175/share I'll consider it, but I would have to see if I can get into it with my back. It's hard enough to get into my Z, and that's about 6 inches higher. Are you going to be at El Toro this weekend so I can see if I can get in and out.

Hi Dennis
I was on vacation and didn't have the opportunity to check the web much. My cellphone battery died as well.
This car is about the closest thing you can drive on the street to a real sportsracer. I got it because it reminded me of my Shannon Sports 2000 racecar. Nothing beats light weight for fun driving (1940lbs)

I've always wanted a Lotus since I first started driving. I loved the Esprit Turbo, but they are hard to find. My only concern about the Elise is me getting in and out with my back. Are you going to be at the August event? I would like to see if I can get in and out okay, and learn what I can about the setup. Let me also mention that the color is perfect. Nothing better than British Racing Green. We had an XJS in British Racing Green. Green on cars would normally be hideous, but if it is on the right car it is perfect. Sort of like Yellow looking like crap on a Neon, but great on a Lambo or a Porsche.

John lives in Acton ... works in Burbank ... and hasn't been to an AX in a looong time. Maybe you'll motivate him to come out to see us ... before his new racer is finished:

I'll have to think when and where is a good time and place to meet you. I live in the OC, and don't get up to LA much anymore. I'm not sure where Acton is, but I know the Burbank area because I lived there and Studio City during the first 2.5 years at USC. Maybe I can plan a trip up to eat at Killer Shrimp in Studio City and meet with you. However, I will need to figure out a good day to do so.

John ... you SHOULD come out ... with the FAMILY ... for Jr. Karting! Lots of families and kids doing it now. Lots of room at El Toro for separate JR Karting.

Hey Robert. The point is that he's supposed to come sit in my Lotus and fall in love with it! Not go to a dealer so they can sucker him into maximum depreciation like me!
Are you and Gary Thomason going to Nats with a Lotus? Wow lots of ASP Lotuses out there.
Mako, i'll call you later and you can try and talk me into it.

You want to go up against this ASP Lotus ?!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTzG2Rm6 ... annel_page

Did you check out the RAW times from last Sunday: https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/files/C ... 09_raw.htm

As long as Motoman isn't there driving the same ASP Z-06 as he did last year. I believe Kmo was faster then JU on Saturday when he did a run with Henry Z06 ... with LAST years National's tires! 57.0XX ?

Don't worry, I hate dealers. I get no respect because I look like a hippie. When we went to buy the wife's BMW, the guys at Irvine BMW ignored us completely. We went to Crevier and they didn't care that we looked young and broke. They freaked when we payed cash for her car, and we drove back by Irvine BMW to let them know that they SUCKED.

The likelihood of Newport European having a BRG n/a ELise with a LSD is pretty low.
OTOH, he could fall in love with one of the powder blue Exige 240s... those things are sweet.
And that's coming from someone who used to own a BRG Elise!

And no, I was driving Fred's XP car, which I will be driving in Lincoln.
Gary was driving Jason's car, but as far as I know, he will not be driving it in Lincoln.

Went to a Nissan dealership to get a new Maxima, trading in our Prelude ... got the same disrespect. Went down the street to the Acura dealership and bought a new (more expensive) Legend instead ... got treated very well by Acura. They let us take the car home with us even though we couldn't finish the process that evening ... and offered us a 2nd one at an extra large discount ... drive it home. Those were the days before alimony, college payments, etc ....

All too familiar story. Makes my dad scream at dealers.

There is an old story in the local luxury car market about a smelly bag lady who pulled up to a Mercedes dealer in the Valley in a cab. She gets out and comes in the store. The sales guys all try to duck out of the rotation. She asks to test drive the black SEC on the showroom floor and is refused. They call her a cab and she leaves.... Up the street where she test drove and bought the black 850 at the Bimmer dealer... With the cash the bag lady was carrying... in the bag. It was Kelly McGinis a couple of years after Top Gun, but before the breakdown. At least thats how the legion goes... As told by the sales manager at the Bimmer dealer.
