This is the SIZE of tire that Tom Hoppe used to win STX at Nationals a number of years ago. Being extra low it helped keep the revs and boost up coming out of corners. A very sticky tire especially good now that it's getting cooler. The Toyo R1R has a slightly soft sidewall, but in a 35 sidewall it will be nice and responsive.
Here is how that size looked on my WRX ... on a 9" rim:
On Tom's car ... back then the only tire in that size was the 451 Falken. Not an Ultra or even Maximum Summer tire. It was the size that made Tom's car a winner. Most everyone else back then was using the Falken 215 tire.
